The Tower of David (Hebrew: מגדל דוד, Migdal David, Arabic: برج داود, Burj Daud), also known as the Jerusalem Citadel, is an ancient citadel located near the Jaffa Gate entrance to western edge of the Old City of Jerusalem.
The citadel that stands today dates to the Mamluk and Ottoman periods. It was built on the site of an earlier ancient fortification of the Hasmonean, Herodian-era, Byzantine and Early Muslim periods, after being destroyed repeatedly during the last decades of Crusader presence in the Holy Land by Ayyubid and Mamluk rulers.[1] It contains important archaeological finds dating back over 2,000 years including a quarry dated to the First Temple period, and is a popular venue for benefit events, craft shows, concerts, and sound-and-light performances.( Wikipedia)

The chickadees are small, slender birds, usually curious and not very shy. Nutcrackers usually appear in pairs at the feeder, prospecting with other tits. However, it is a "couple" composed of individuals of the same sex who spend the winter together. From the spring, when the males begin to sing, the "fake" couples separate. They prefer to hunt in lower levels of vegetation and on the ground. They often accumulate reserves for periods of scarcity.
She is a fairly habitual visitor to many rural gardens. She is quite shy, but she will not disdain the feeders in winter with other varieties of tits, provided they find trees or bushes nearby. The chickadees are so quick and fast that a short moment is enough for them to collect seeds at the manger. As soon as a place is free, the couples dive continually on the feeder to take away seeds, Unlike the other tits, the nonnets each take several seeds; they can carry up to three hemp seeds in their beaks. These seeds, however, are not consumed at the same time but scattered in appropriate hiding places such as tree forks, crevices in bark or fallen branches. Each seed is hidden separately and often is not found. In the wild, she inspects the trees for insects. On the ground, it feeds on weed seeds, beeches, berries and sunflower seeds.
I shot this at Lake Windermere, Cumbria England. It is the largest natural lake in England. It is a ribbon lake formed in a glacial trough after the retreat of ice at the start of the current interglacial period.
Original MidJourney AI assisted digital abstract with iPad Pro, TouchRetouch, procreate, and Apple Pencil.
I recently tried out the new Text-to-Image AI called MidJourney. I am blown away. The quality of its images is a huge step up from previous tools I’ve used (‘WOMBO Dream, Starry AI, and NightCafe).
The output still needs to be upscaled, de-noised, and repainted a bit, but not nearly as much as with other tools.
The user interface is a crazy nightmare… Imagine a Unix-style command line you access from a Discord chat server. There is a bit of a learning curve, but the output is worth it.

Thank you in advance for all your faves and comments. I might answer several days later. And I might post other photos in the meantime.
As its still Ferrari Friday, here is a shot from the assembly road at Goodwood of chassis 2129GT, a Ferrari 250 GT SWB/C sold to Garage Francorchamps for Willy Mairess to race in 1960.
This car took the victory at the Tour de France on its maiden race, driven by Willy Mairesse and Georges Berger, under number 157. It then took second at the 1000km Paris with Wolfgang von Trips partnering Willy Mairesse.
In 1967, under the ownership of Bill Lake, the car had sliding windows fitted rather than the factory vent windows.
In 2001 Adrian Beecroft took ownership, and the car was fitted with registration "SSL 899".

Becan is an archaeological site of the Maya civilization in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Becan is located near the center of the Yucatán Peninsula, in the present-day Mexican state of Campeche,Archaeological evidence shows that Becan was occupied in the middle Preclassic Maya period, about 550 BCE, and grew to a major population and ceremonial center a few hundred years later in the late Preclassic.

Millstone Grit is an informal term for gritstones which are found in Pennines and the Peak District. These sediments were laid down in the Paleozoic era, in the Carboniferous period, about 360 million to 300 million years ago. Gritstone is a hard, coarse grained, siliceous sandstone, the name is given to sandstones which are quarried for building material. British gritstone was used for millstones to mill flour, to grind wood into pulp for paper and for grindstones to sharpen blades.

Leonard Cohen: Closing Time.
The original church of St John the Baptist at Stokesay, near Craven Arms, was built around 1150 as a chapel to Stokesay Castle and was probably expanded once the castle site developed in the 13th century. As a result of the Civil War destruction Stokesay church is a rare example of a church extensively rebuilt during the Puritan period (1654) although some Norman features survive at lower levels, especially on the north side of the building.
Featuring in Simon Jenkins England's Thousand Best Churches, its most striking features are the biblical texts on the walls, two decker pulpit, box and canopied pews and a West Gallery. This has a staircase leading to it and at the north side, space for the musicians. Originally the band would have included a bass viol, flute and clarinet, and was replaced about 1855 by a harmonium, and later still by the present organ. Today it is still the parish church which serves Craven Arms and there is regular worship at 10am on most Sundays.

I loved coming here, and probably rented the place well over a dozen times over a period of 2 or 3 years and in all seasons.
lt was owned by the old Lord and Lady Sainsbury ( Of the Supermarket fame.) and l'm assuming we loved the place as much as they did, as they spent a lot of time here themselves.
Anyway, the reason l'm telling you all this is, is that our new cottage/home has very much in the same vein/feeling.....but without the sea.....which is it's only downside.....but it does have a Canal...but that's not quite the Iris Sea is it?. :-)
Apparently, I am easily amused spending countless hours thinking about lights and motion My mornings are spent blowing bubbles, waving my arms and lights around in the dark, and hoping for magic. I've mentioned that I am not one that feels like sitting and meditating does anything for me but the act of creating my photos puts me in a flow state. It is one of the times I can maintain mental focus for a prolonged period of time. What activities help you?
A short period of time it was when I was forced to sell my camera and as an obvious result of that at the moment I didn’t have any at hand. By the way, I bought every camera I have owned in recent years with that in my mind - if necessary I would sell them. It was so in this case too except that this time I decided not to buy a cheaper camera in order to just have one but took some courage and appealing to the good terms we were with one of my friends, but beg him to lend me his 5d markIII for a few days. There was this beautiful autumn with plenty to make photos of, and I was desperate to not miss these wonderful opportunities so I grabbed it and went for a walk to catch some light. This is the short story of this picture :)
...in this period the Japanese garden is at the height of its beauty, giant white and pink peonies bloom, the maples are putting tender green leaves, the sakura cherry trees have arms full of delicate flowers, hanging from the branches you can often read cartouches with poems zen, the tiny pond cradles huge darting carp and you can rest in the small pagoda enjoying the view of Rome, while maybe at your feet a couple of mallards go diving in the water ...
Merry Christmas to all you lovelies out there!! Have an epic holiday period!!
and me as the Phoenix
And the scene story begins....
It was a picturesque winter evening at the Xavier Institute, snow gently falling outside, and the warm glow of Christmas lights twinkling inside. But in the dining room? Absolute chaos.
Jean Grey, a.k.a. Phoenix, stood at the center of the table, literally on fire. Her flames engulfed the candelabras, lighting them all at once while everyone shielded their eyes.
“Jean, maybe tone it down?” Cyclops yelled, squinting behind his visor.
“YOU WANTED AMBIANCE!” she replied, flames whooshing upward and singing the mistletoe.
Meanwhile, Wolverine was hunched over the dessert table, growling as he used his adamantium claws to slice the pumpkin pie.
“Who needs a knife when ya got the goods?” he muttered, flicking pie crumbs onto Cyclops, who dodged them like projectiles.
Storm hovered midair in the dining room, whipping up mashed potatoes with her wind powers. The whirlwind was so strong that bits of potato splattered on the walls, the ceiling, and poor Professor X’s bald head.
“Ororo,” he said, calmly wiping mashed spuds off his temple. “Could you stir with just a spoon next time?”
“No time for spoons, Charles!” she called back, summoning a small thunderclap for dramatic effect.
Suddenly, the front door slammed open, and in flew Rogue, her super-strength evident as she carried an absolutely gigantic turkey above her head.
“Ah got the bird, y’all!” she hollered, soaring over the table.
“Wait, don’t drop it!” Cyclops shouted.
“Who’s droppin’ it?!” Rogue retorted, but just as she swooped low, Cyclops took the opportunity to blast the turkey with his optic beam.
The turkey cooked instantly, sizzling and golden-brown as it landed perfectly on the centerpiece platter.
“Dinner’s served!” Cyclops said proudly.
The team cheered, except for Xavier, who muttered, “Does anyone here understand basic food safety?”
Just as they began to sit, the turkey gave an ominous creak—Rogue’s strength had squished it slightly, and it was leaking stuffing like a broken piñata.
“Oh, come on!” shouted Wolverine, clawing at a drumstick.
And yet, despite the mess—the flames, the mashed potato cyclone, and the very questionable turkey—it was an X-Men Christmas dinner for the ages.
“Next year,” muttered Professor X, sipping his wine, “we’re ordering pizza.”

Je me suis tourné vers lui.

Undine Falls on Lava Creek
Yellowstone National Park
Park County, Wyoming
Undine (UNdean) Falls, near the Grand Loop Road east of Mammoth Hot Springs, in the northern part of Yellowstone, was a pleasant surprise when we found it last July, as I had neither heard nor seen much about this waterfall. Like many Yellowstone waterfalls, Undine Falls are open to the sunlight; happily, at least most of this waterfall was in the shade for a brief period while we were there. Lava Creek drops about 60 in the three tiers of the waterfall. Although near the road, the falls are not visible from the road.
