Perfume Pagoda
The Huong Pagoda (English: Perfume Pagoda, Vietnamese: Chùa Hương, Chinese: 香寺) is a vast complex of Buddhist temples and shrines built into the limestone Huong Tich mountains. It is the site of a religious festival which draws large numbers of pilgrims from across Vietnam.[1] The centre of the Huong Temple lies in Huong Son Commune, Mỹ Đức District, former Hà Tây Province (now Hanoi). The centre of this complex is the Perfume Temple, also known as Chua Trong (Inner Temple), located in Huong Tich Cave.

I made a research project on how to sell a luxury product such as perfume. The final project was an advertisement for an imaginary perfume. Before making it, I watched many different perfume ads, and read about the marketing strategies used for perfume. I then proceeded to incorporate certain elements, such as the vintage camera, a french song from the 50s, the beautiful girl running, the romantic aspect of the sunset, and nature all around. The nature aspect is especially present, as she finds the perfume inside a tree, and the name of the perfume, 'Arborescence,' literally means resembling the form of a tree.
I made a storyboard for the ad and met up with the girl in the video. We filmed this in February, which was a challenge because she had to wear a dress even though it was extremely cold outside. We had to make each take very short so she could warm up in between them. After having filmed everything, I edited the ad with Final Cut Pro.
