I had a blast seeing a live jazz performance featuring Edy Brisseaux, presented as a part of the Haiti Cultural Exchange's "Mizik Ayiti!" First Thursdays--which occurs the first Thursday of each month.
The event usually takes place at the Five Myles Gallery location on St. John's Place, but this night the location was at the Crown Heights Cafe (which has been having several wonderful events so check them out!.)

(Sting Performs) - Billy Joel / Sting / Tampa Stadium - Triple Play Of Firsts In One Night - IMRAN™
I’ve known Billy Joel songs since the late 1970s, when I was literally a little boy in Karachi, Pakistan. I’ve appreciated Sting’s talent, lyrics, and music since the start. In 1980 Police songs like Don’t Stand So Close To Me made me love the band and artist.
Over the years, Sting’s solo later year songs have become even more special to me. Desert Rose and The Book Of My Life are masterpieces I can’t get enough of for their resonance with my soul.
Yet, I had not been to any of their concerts in the half century I’ve gotten to love these performers’ songs and talent more and more. Meanwhile, I’ve called Tampa Bay home for a dozen years but had never made it to Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play.
Finally, I had a hat-trick or triple-play of firsts. What fun to see both legends, Billy Joel and Sting, do a joint concert in Tampa, Florida Saturday night, 02/24/24, at the Bucs stadium.
I had made reservations on Ticketmaster months ago. It was quite cold tonight, putting me in a New York State Of Mind. On top of it being a clear night, it was all happening live under a full moon. Grateful and blessed at another wonderful experience in The Book Of My Life.
Have you seen them in concert? What are your favorite songs of these two legendary artists?

Coyote Willow Performing at Pine Fest Music Festival in Halfway Oregon
A spectacular Saturday on the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway for day Pine Fest - Halfway, Oregon with the award Coyote Willow.
Billed as the tiniest music festival in the tiniest town, Pine fest is one of our favorite fall events along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway. We had a great day hanging out with locals and visitors from Oregon Idaho and Washington listening to a great line up of bands and musicians from throughout the Northwest at the Baker County Fairgrounds in Halfway.
Pine Fest is the largest musical festival in Halfway but the community also hosts a number of other musical events including the summer concert series on the Main Street Stage. For more information about Pine Fest including next year’s dates and performers visit www.pinefest.org
The town of Halfway is just one of numerous small towns along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway, a loop that encircles the Wallowa Mountains, intersecting with Interstate 84 at Baker City and La Grande, and communities all along the byway host a variety of festivals and community events throughout the year providing visitors a chance to celebrate local culture and visit with locals while exploring this incredibly scenic region of North East Oregon.
The byway is a popular destination for group tours and offers visitors a chance to experience small town Americana in small towns like Halfway, as they explore the rugged and spectacular Northeast Oregon landscape along the way.
The entire route is on a paved highway. Plan ahead - you'll find stretches of more than eighty miles without gas and with few services. A segment of the Byway between Joseph and Halfway closes with snow in winter, but allows access to winter recreation areas, offering a whole other kind of Northeast Oregon Adventure.

I am back!!!! ~OK partially, I am doing a "post and run" today and promise to catch up on my contacts photostreams this week... its been a crazy couple of weeks...
About this photo... over this past spring and summer I have been amassing a bunch of candid street photos of people and this past week I travelled out to Vancouver and took some time to take a walk down to East Van. (and for those of you that know the area know its not a place you want to be alone with camera gear, day or night)
I saw this guy in Gastown playing out front of Starbucks on the street, and the weathered face made me stop and take some photos of him... not for free mind you, I bought him a grande bold and gave him a toonie, then... asked his permission if i could photograph him.
He let me shoot him for awhile while he played to my camera and ignored the dozens of tourists that simply snapped away... he even told people to get out of my way...haha...
He told me he plays on the streets for food, shelter and medication... he makes on average $40 to $50 during the tourist season a day and that pays for a room, his food and his medication. Without that talent he would simply be another homeless person begging for money and sleeping in a free shelter worried for his life...
And BTW, a huge shout out to Chris Clare who lent me his e520 while i wait for my replacement through insurance... you're a good man Chris... this ones for you...
The organisers of the market encourage poets to 'perform' and Ken grabbed the opportunity to read out one of his sketches in 'Ugly Lovely'. The guy on the left was the only one who didn't listen.

How To Perform Fellatio
Whether you use the technical term fellatio or call it a blow job, going down on a man, or giving him head, performing fellatio is an act that requires a lot of trust and a little bit of knowledge. Social messages about fellatio suggest that guys love it so much they don’t care about technique. In reality there is a lot of variation in fellatio skills, and knowing how to read your partner, what to do to him, and when to do it can make all the difference…
Time Required: Fellatio can be fast and dirty or slow and seductive, no set time required.
Here's How:
1.Start him off nice and clean.
Social stigma seems to focus on the taste of women’s genitals more than men’s. In fact men can smell and taste just as strong as women. If you're new to fellatio, you might be worried about taste and smell. If so, suggest a sexy bath or shower together and start with a clean slate. You can also add a bit of flavored personal lubricant to his penis or put on a flavored condom, which is great for safer oral sex.
2.Physical comfort is key.
You can’t have fun and perform well if you’re not physically comfortable, and fellatio can put a strain on your neck and jaw. Kneeling before him on a pillow, while he’s standing or sitting, gives you good range of motion and plenty of access. If you’ve had bad experiences with fellatio where you felt lack of control, have him on his back and crouch in between his legs. Giving head can put you in a major power position, if you like that feeling then go for it.
3.Tease him with touch.
Using your hands first, gently caress his inner thighs, penis, testicles, and perineum, paying attention to his reactions (verbal and facial) as you touch certain spots. The most sensitive spot on a guy’s penis is the head (known as the glans), especially the frenulum, an indentation between the glans and the shaft on the underside of the penis. You might want to brush up on your knowledge of male sexual anatomy , to know what you’re working with.
4.Give him a lick.
Follow up with your tongue, exploring the same terrain using slow wide strokes with your tongue. Don’t be afraid to use lots of saliva, as this natural lube feels great and helps create friction and suction. There are many STDs that can be passed during fellatio, using flavored condoms is a great way to practice safer sex and deal with any taste you may not like. It is also a perfect way to get guys who say they have difficulty with condoms, to gladly put one on.
5.Take him in your mouth.
When he’s semi-erect, slowly guide your lips over the tip of his penis, making sure your lips cover your teeth as you slide gently down his shaft as far as you’re comfortable. Keep your mouth taut, as the pressure from your lips will feel great as they glide down the penis. Putting him in your mouth before he is fully erect is a good way of getting comfortable with the size of his penis, particularly if he is in the larger range.
6.Watch the gag reflex.
If you’re not adept at deep throat (taking the whole penis in your mouth), don’t try it or you’ll trigger the gag reflex. It’s not necessary and a similar effect can be achieved with the hand and mouth technique described below. With practice, you can learn to relax your gag reflex and take in more of the penis.
7.Use your mouth and tongue.
As your head travels up the underside of the penis, flatten your tongue so it gives his frenulum a nice wide, wet stroke. Don’t be afraid to try different types of licks or kisses—the lips feel good when popped over the ridge of the penis—but perform each stroke repeatedly before changing to give consistent pleasure.
8.Have fun with the foreskin.
If your partner is uncircumcised, insert your tongue into the foreskin and circle around the head with it. You can also use your fingers to gently massage the head through the foreskin, alternating with deep tongue licks.
9.Using your mouth and hand, tip #1.
A great blow job incorporates both hands and mouth. Place one hand around the shaft of his penis while you move up and down on the top half of his penis. Try coordinating your movements so your hand and mouth are going up and down in unison. If you're partner is thrusting, your hand will prevent his penis from being pushed too far into your mouth.
10.Using your mouth and hand, tip #2.
If he likes this combination, bring your hand all the way up the shaft (following your mouth), remove your mouth briefly, use your palm to slide and twist over the head (as if you were juicing an orange), and then glide your hand back down followed by your mouth again. Repeat.
11.Let him come.
When he’s ready to orgasm, keep your movements consistent and firm—don’t slack off. Once he starts ejaculating, see him through with a few strokes and then stop, as most men don’t want continued stimulation once they’ve ejaculated and had an orgasm.
12.To swallow or not to swallow?
This decision is entirely up to you. There's nothing wrong with you if you don't want to, but it's nice to let your partner know it's nothing personal. If you don't want to swallow, and you aren’t familiar with the signs of imminent ejaculation , let him know you want a warning. Remove your mouth as he's about to ejaculate, and continue hand stroking through his orgasm.
Tips:
1.Don’t forget the rest of his body. The scrotum and testicles (balls) are particularly sensitive, and most men like them to be stimulated. Try lightly licking or touching his testicles during oral sex. He might also like them to be cradled gently in one of your hands. Some men go wild when you place your hand around the top of the scrotum and gently tug down.
2.You can also apply pressure to his perineum (the spot between his anus and his penis) with one or two fingers, as this also can feel good.
3.He might like wearing a butt plug during fellatio for added prostate stimulation. Or you can apply pressure to his anus with one of your fingers.

"The main theme of Austin's mature work - How to Do Things with Words - is that this distinction between performatives and other kinds of speech acts collapses. Just as saying certain things constitutes getting married (a "performative") and saying certain things constitutes making a promise (another "performative"), so saying certain things constitutes making a statement (supposedly a "constative"). As Austin saw but as many philosophers still fail to see, the parallel is exact. Making a statement is as much performing an illocutionary act as making a promise, a bet, a warning or what have you. Any utterance will consist in performing one or more illocutionary acts."

Walt Lafty and Nick Perri Performing at Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia PA on December 18th 2021.
This is the second show i've shot in two days with the Nikon Z9. The show the day before this had almost ZERO front like, which made things a lot more difficult.
Brooklyn Bowl in Philly on the other hand has an AMAZING lighting rig and people who know what they're doing to run it, which makes for better photos.
Now that i've gotten to shoot in terrible light and better light, how did the camera handle? The Auto Focus still is more jumpy then the Canon's and Sony's. What I mean by that is, it's easily distracted by other moving things in the frame. For example, it should stay locked on the face or eye of the guitar player and not be thrown off by the guitar itself.
With Sony and Canon it's much harder to get the systems to miss the eye or face when you have face and eye detect on. Those stay sticky unless you force it to focus somewhere else.
The colors are great, the files handle well at higher ISO, the cameras super responsive. The quickest of all the flagships when it comes to turning on and turning off. It's instant. Canon takes a little bit to turn off...aka power down...then power back up. And the same is true for the canon.
Banding is not an issue so far. Yes you may see some banding from the LED lights in a few images, but there's really nothing you can do about that regardless of the system. So, it's really a non issue for me so far.
The lenses are still where the system falls short for me. I still don't feel as if they are able to focus as quick as the Pro canon and Sony glass. The glass is nice, but the 1.8's are just much slower, in terms of focus speed then the Pro glass from the Sony and Canon.
Now before you say, but Jared, Canon doesn't have a line of 1.8's...yes, you would be correct. They have a line of 1.2's. 85 and 50. Speaking of the 50, Nikon's 50 1.2 is nice, but still not as fast focusing as it's counterparts.
I still have trouble knowing when i'm actually shooting photos. You could snap of 20 and not even know you were taking photos. Yes there's some modes like adding a black frame after you take a shot, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the "blackout free" viewfinder.
All and all, so far so good, I am enjoying shooting the system. I wish the glass was faster, I wish the focus was stickier, but again, this camera is a million times better then any of the prior Nikon mirrorless options.
I will continue to use this camera in the Real World and share my thoughts along the way.
