Originally from 'a church in Edinburgh', we picked up half a dozen of these rather lovely glass pendants from Holyrood Architectural Salvage, swapped out the old plastic cable for some new woven red flex, and found some three-way enamel ceiling roses. (Both flex and roses came from Enamel Lampshades.) Isn't that timber and metal top piece nice? No idea what the church replaced them with...
The hardboard spacers there are temporary while we agree on exactly what shape we like best - Alison quite likes this or maybe a more pure triangle, and I wonder about a simple circular ring. Either way, they'll end up getting cut from some nice plywood, I think...
...At any rate, it's rather different to the kind of lighting design I normally do at work, and also fun to play around with something so decorative on this project for a change!

The pendant was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights placed 80° CL/CR, two-feet away from and one-foot above the subject. They were fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄64 power through Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes.
The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's.
Lens: Helios 44M-4 2/58 with 20mm extension tube attached.

stone is gem silica with a cultured pearl accent. the pendant is silver with gold ball accents.
Todays project finished. 14K gold hand forged and 7mm Akoya pearl.
I was inspired by someone very special when I made this piece!

Project Flickr - Time
This pendant watch belonged to my grandmother who was born in 1901. As a child I remember thinking how pretty it was. She wore it for many years and she once told me that it was a gift from a Swiss admirer.
I have given it a soft focus as it has become incredibly worn and scratched over the years
Keeping this one for myself but can make similar others. Silver over pewter, just over one inch. Grouted in white and sealed. Comes with a black rubber cord necklace.
I've been away at a metal smithing workshop taught by Kat Cole learning to enamel on steel and copper surfaces. Here are a couple of my uncleaned, unfinished pieces that will soon become brooches/pendants.
They are on top of a photo taken from my rainy windshield driving to the class.

An Eiffel Tower pendant set on a clear acrylic surface with a textured background, taken for the Flickr Friday theme, "Arches." The pendant is 1.75-inches tall.
Strobist/technical info:
The pendant was placed on a clear sheet of acrylic with an aluminum foil background light painted blue as a backdrop. The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights placed 90° CL/CR two-feet away and 16-inches above the subject. The speedlights were fired in Manual mode @ ¼ power through two Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes. The Blue LED of a Coast TX10 Quad Color flashlight was used to light paint the background over a 1 s exposure.
The SB900's were triggered by three PockerWizard Plus X's.
Lens: Tokina AT - X M100 AF PRO D (AF 100mm f / 2.8 Macro).

Another swirl pendant.I 've made this one with autumn colors.

She is Cyprus flagged and managed out of Cyprus by Mastermind Ship Management Ltd and hence is part of the Mastermind fleet. Her beneficial owner is Mastermind Ship Management Ltd of Cyprus.
I photographed the Atlantic Pendant alongside No. 3 Kwinana Bulk Berth on January 7, 2015. Due to having to shoot from the beach, I was only able to get a fragment of her. Once she is completed loading/unloading at Kwinana her next port of call was Newcastle, Australia.
Created for the Aspiring Metalsmiths Group April Challenge, which is to create a piece of wearable art based on a favourite artist or style of art.
Inspired by the work of Canadian artist Lawren Harris, one of the founding members of the Group of Seven. I love the flowing lines and serenity in his abstract landscapes.
