This lamp hails either from the very late 60s or the 1970s. It is SO FABULOUS! It would look amazing hung low over a very modern dining table.

Yes, that thing it says in the title up there, about the non-fragile nature of the lamps? So very much the case. Really, if anything they are rather more resistant to breakage than other lamps. It's almost ironic.
These handsome industrial hanging lamps are a little bit paradoxical. With their chains, their black exteriors, and their pleasant cupped underside, they make a much bigger impact when they are hung in a row, as here. However, they are made by hand rather than stamped out of a machine. Even the interiors are painted by hand. These little variations add up to a lot more warmth than you expect from something with so much industrial chic!
Another thrift shop find from years ago. It's that spun/brushed aluminum painted flat black and white under the saucer. Has the pull down/push up adjustment. I think I paid less than $5.00 for this. Wired it in, and it worked fine. Has little perforations on the four shades that let the light through....excellent touch.
Here it is. The last hold out. This wall is driving me crazy.
Although I love off white trim, I had a feeling that I might not care for it in this particular instance. I think the problem is that it's not mixing well with the red and gold bench seat cushion. To remedy that, I'll keep the black "wrought iron" bench base, but create a new cushion that is more in harmony with the trim color.
I still haven't decided on a window treatment, so in the meantime, this project has been moved to a back burner again.

Being in an increased need for simplicity after the current chaos of prints, packing materials and paper boats everywhere around us, they have all found their new places, neatly organised and we can live again normally :)

Usher in the age of enlightenment with these gorgeous pendant lamps by (one of) my favorite Israeli designers Arik Levy. The ‘minishakes.mgx’ designed for materialise are similar to Levy’s Shaman pendant necklace. Both are made of epoxy and rendered in a deep amber-brown color. To me, they seem sensual and casual. Arranged in a cluster of three (like in the photo) at different heights it’s an interesting twist on a chandelier-style lighting fixture for a bedroom no? This lampshade is made out of an old vinyl record with a brass socket and a red fabric cable. I strictly don't know how the shape of the lamp was made but it looks gorgeous...especially for the fan of vinyls! Design By Sandman Upcycling from Germany.
