The goalkeeper's fear during penalty shootouts (with apologies to Peter Handke). Fuji X100F (ND filter on). This time, AF was on, and I let the camera decide shutter speed and ISO. As you see, I am still experimenting with (some) automatic camera settings. I wouldn't have gone for a 1/60 sec. and an ISO 2000 combination (though okay for this image), but rather for a higher shutter speed and a lower ISO and therefore capable to freeze movement.
I was driving on a tertiary road along the Sunshine Coast and noticed this Autumn colored tree. When I pulled over to observe the landscape, it occurred to me that between the trees, this golden beauty, was in the penalty box.
Surrounded by the forest, perhaps it had been caught for "high sticking". A term used in hockey when a players stick comes in contact with another player, too high to be thought of as part of ordinary play.
In hockey, players get sent to the penalty bench for their transgressions, usually for two minutes. This bench might make them think twice and comport themselves better. Sue is in the background holding my cane while I find a wide-angle composition that is tolerable to my tasted, such as they might be.

Capital punishment, the death penalty, or execution is the killing of a person by judicial process as a punishment for an offense. Crimes that can result in a death penalty are known as capital crimes or capital offences. The term capital originates from Latin capitalis, literally "regarding the head" (Latin caput). Hence, a capital crime was originally one punished by the severing of the head.
Capital punishment has in the past been practiced in virtually every society, although currently only 58 nations actively practice it, with 95 countries abolishing it (the remainder having not used it for 10 years or allowing it only in exceptional circumstances such as wartime). It is a matter of active controversy in various countries and states, and positions can vary within a single political ideology or cultural region .
are you trying to say you want to kill me?

The Penalty Box.
For those of you who monitor a scanner during your fanning adventures, you may recall hearing "The Penalty Box" mentioned in a radio transmission or two. It does have meaning on the railroad.
On a busy mainline where freight trains intermingle with intermodals in both directions, snags develop. Fast train catches slow train. It's expected and can be handled.
When a passenger corridor is added to this mix, the stress level of the DS is exponentially amplified. Rails are bent to weave hotties in and around the slow manifests
Even the priority intermodal train experiences a delay or two to keep passengers moving. Occasionally, this may involve being tucked away in a siding. Hence the Penalty Box.
On this westbound trip, we are taking a timeout. The DS had no other options. He informs us that we will be in the Penalty Box to meet Amtrak 364, 370, and 30.
Thank God for the long days of summer light. My time in the box will put to good use, giving pixel roll-bys to all passing traffic. Trains of CN can be seen behind us overhead, while trains of CSX are just off to thr right.
Port Huron bound 364 has no visible defects as the trailing Charger flies by at 70mph. It's not a bad day to be in the Penalty Box!

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

After 90 minutes... the penalties.. An amazing game full of passion and emotions...
One of the most recordable moment of my vacation in Brazil... I will never forget it..
I'm not a Soccer supporter but it was a great moment. I think that every human should go to a Stadium at least once in a life.. even to feel the emotion and the passion of supporters...
My team (Ipatinga won the game...) This penalty was goal...

I can't stop shooting this film. Absolutely love the results from it.
Mikrat-300 (expired 1971, freezer stored) Shot at 25 ISO - Canon FTb, 50mm f/1.8
Agitated half as much and extended dev time to 20 minutes. Contrast was definitely brought under control this way.
The acid damage is still present, but not as noticeable this roll.
The weird sticky pink layer on the base (opposite the emulsion) is still there. I had to clean off by hand in soapy water.
Developed for 20 minutes in Caffenol-CL:
9.6g washing soda
6g vitamin C
4.2g iodized salt
24g instant coffee

By law, it’s an offence to drive a vehicle on a public road in the UK without road tax
DVLA enforcement of vehicle tax, registration and insurance offences.
Penalty:
An out of court settlement (OCS) letter issued.
OCS set at £30 plus one and a half times the outstanding vehicle tax. If the OCS is not paid, as a criminal offence the case may be pursued through the magistrates’ court. The penalty is either £1,000 or five times the amount of tax chargeable, whichever is greater.
Vehicle may be clamped and additional fees may apply.
In the UK it’s virtually impossible to get away without paying road tax if you’re required to because the DVLA runs monthly computer checks of all vehicles registered in the UK.
If the system flags up a vehicle as being untaxed and not declared SORN, an automated letter and fine of £80 will be sent to your address if you’re the registered keeper. You won’t get any points on your licence though. If you pay the fine within 28 days, you should receive a 50% discount.
If you fail to pay the fine, you could be prosecuted, and the penalty could be increased to a maximum of £1,000 if the case goes to court. The DVLA also has the power to clamp your vehicle until the correct amount of tax is paid.
What other costs can be incurred?
The DVLA can clamp vehicles, impound them and crush them. Fees will be incurred as follows:
Charge Fee
Release of wheel clamp (if paid within the first 24 hours) £100
Release of vehicle from storage £200
Storage charges (per day) £21
Surety fee (payable to reclaim an untaxed vehicle but reimbursed upon production of a valid tax notice within 14 days) £160
It should be noted that if a vehicle is impounded, and is not claimed within 7-14 days Statutory Notice, it can be crushed or auctioned.
