I didn't want to be the only one to not put a friggin' tulip shot up!!!!Here

the cyclic existence of human life

I'm not really one to rant and such here on Flickr but I've been seeing these ads with various photos over the last while and I just cringe everytime I see one. This is the first full page one they've had in awhile.

I find it sad and pretty damned scary that some women would resort to such things because they feel their bits aren't up to snuff. Or feeling they have to remain eternally youthful, like ageing is a disease or something. As for vaginal tightening, have you ever heard of kegels?? Hello??! They work!! And you can do them anywhere .... like on your commute to work. ahem.

And the idea of having someone do something to my labia - whether it involves a scapel or a laser - makes my thighs snap together faster than a beartrap! E-freakin'-gad!!!

There's some info here about such procedures ... just reading it gives me the heebie-geebies ....

Day 40: "Where is the love?"

View On Black

Have you ever been called Fat? Ugly? A whore? Anorexic? Flat chested? A whale? Of course you have. We have all been made fun of by our co-workers, classmates, friends, family, or spouses at some time in our lives. Abuse comes in many forms. It can be verbal, physical, or sexual. And those are just the basic forms.

This, day 40, is my little "you're not alone" to everyone who has felt abused in some way. Every overweight girl being teased in middle school, every 7 year old who's daddy touches her, every naturally skinny girl who cant shake the "anorexic" stereotype, ever woman who's husband beats her... and the list could go on forever.

I've never been physically or sexually abused, but i have been verbally & emotionally abused. And i know what it's like to live everyday wishing your life would just end so you could stop the torture and the suffering. But hold on, keep your head up. Eventually things do get better, and please, get help! If you are being abused in someway, please tell someone!

Did you know?

Every two minutes, somewhere in America, someone is sexually assaulted.

One in six American women are victims of sexual assault, and one in 33 men.

About 44% of rape victims are under age 18, and 80% are under age 30.

59% of all rapes go unreported.

Music that isn't set

Seen at the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.

ATTENTION: Before you all start freaking out, the cigarette was FAKE and I was NOT actually drinking the alcohol.

Anyway, I haven't done a cloning picture in a few months, so I decided to do this. I've been wanting to do something similar for awhile, but I could never put it together. So...here it is!

This picture grosses me out so much because of the realistic-looking cigarette. Never will I EVER even take a drag of a real one. Smoking is terrible and kills thousands of people. It causes lung cancer, mostly. I'm trying to get my mom to stop because I really don't want to lose her at such a young age.

life demands...cigarettes.

So basically half the people I know are doing project 365, and I am nothing if not a joiner. So here is picture one. The story: My sister and I wanted to get a picture of Christmas lights before people took them down. So we trudged (seriously people we've gotten literally FEET of snow in the last couple of days) in below freezing temperatures to take some pictures. Liking none of them I noticed how neat the tree looked against the lighter background of the night sky. I took the picture and the flash came on, showing my a tree covered in red berries. I liked this view even better.

Oh. P.S. If anyone has any tricks or tips, I'm all ears. Because let's not kid ourselves. I'm in bad shape taking pictures-wise, and I'm going to need all the help I can get to make it through this.

I just can't stop...

Another one for both sets (My Three Square Meter White Universe and CIA-Conceptual Iconic Art).

During post-processing I thought that I might want to get rid of the bystanders. But now seeing the final product those bystanders add a whole lot of extra meaning in my opinion (I added all my random thoughts in the tags).

Note the poor kid in the blue mech is wearing his dorky red safety helmet, as he should be.

If you know me personally you will know that i am not fond of smoking.

Having that said i started thinking of how i would want to portray "smoking" in a photograph.

1. I thought of the reasons people might start smoking in the first place. ."To look or act cool, mostly peer pressure and wanting to fit in".. So i dressed up all 'cool' in DENIM.

2.Then I though of the damage that smoking causes to the body.." Mouth, Esophagus & Lung Cancer due to Tar." So i painted my mouth and neck black to represent the tar that you dont see while smoking.

3. Location. I shot this in a tunnel to represent the path in life we all take. & some of the decisions we make in life can either speed up or slow down our journey to the light.

Some of the people I love the most in life smoke & i have absolutely no intention of disrespect with the photo and or description.

Everyone wants to know how to "lose" Bad friends. Sometimes you just need help and don't know the next step. For far too long bullies, bad friends, and people who don't deserve our attention have taken advantage of us. The betrayal you experience takes so long to heal from, but now we can fight back with our words! This is for anyone who has been hurt or mistreated. This is for your frienemies who don't seem to appreciate your awesomeness and seem to be jealous. PLAY or SEND this song with lyrics to them to get your point across.

Emotional changes that occur during puberty: With the onset of puberty, interaction of young people with their peers increases. These peer groups are very likely to get influenced by the popular media and culture and often pick up their dressing standard, language and behaviour from the popular culture. This leads to a gap between what is perceived as appropriate by the children and by their parents.http://menstrupedia.com/quickguide#slide7

It's seems even corn experiences peer pressure and the need to be Pop-ular!

The West Side Citizens' Organization, just a few blocks from my house and the polling station, had a big tent outside with a giant "I Voted" sign. Sadly there was no one in the tent.

The FGR crew made me do it (today's theme was something about jumping, or being in flight). If I go into early labor, I'm blaming them!

Whew! I'm exhausted! Time for a nap!

restricted food and not being seen eating are key parts of our lives but also such a strong lack of response to peer pressure and needing to be in fashion - freedom at the cost of ostracization

One of my very first prints. I took this in 1982 with my then brand new Pentax K-1000. Printed in my bedroom, such a rush to see it come to life in the developer. That never got old!

When girls get together, peer pressure can influence one another to be even more mean than when they're alone behind closed doors.

The tagger was probably inspired by Peer Pressure's Pretty Ricky video.

I'm less than thrilled with this shot (it's too messy--too twiggy, sticky, redwood shtuff-y), but I haven't posted anything in a few days, and the peer pressure (OH GOD THE PEER PRESSURE!) of waterfall Wednesday finally got to me.

We were back up the coast this weekend, and stopped by McWay, hoping for some of that magical golden foggy light like I showed y'all recently from there. No magical, mystical light, but the water's always pretty!

Amanda couldn't find her ticket stub for Ira Glass to sign, so she had to improvise. (I had conveniently brought a book.) I thought it would be a great idea if Amanda had Ira Glass sign a body part.

The conversation went a little like this:

"Come on, Mand, you could ask Ira to sign your chest. Well, it wouldn't have to be your actual chest. It could be like, your clavicle."

"Hmm, I don't think so."

"Come on. An Ira Glass collarbone signature. It would be great."

"I don't really feel like it."

"It would make for a great story. I mean how many people ask Ira Glass to sign their chest? Maybe he'd mention you on 'This American Life.' You would make Ira feel a little like a rock star."

"I do really like Ira. I listen to 'This American Life' every week and I'm a member of NPR. You know, it would be kind of fun to get his signature somewhere everyone could see it."

"Do it."

As we neared the front of the line, Amanda tentatively explained to Ira Glass:

"I can't seem to find my ticket. Will you just sign, like up here," she modestly pointed to the swatch of skin above her scooped shirt neckline.

"I don't usually do this. In fact, I'm not sure there's been someone who's wanted my signature so much. But yeah, sure, I'll sign your... This kind of makes me feel like I'm a radio host on tour with Bon Jovi or something. Don't tell my wife." He winked.

To celebrate afterward Amanda drank a 22 oz. Oberon. Upon the arrival of her beer she said: "I've never had a man sign my chest before, especially not a man like Ira. My Dad would be proud."

Ah, the power of social disapproval, from a sign found in an old 19th century Belfast tram car, now safely deposited in the Transport Museum in Cultra.

I can't see something like this working on today's public transport, however. You can imagine how the sign would read today:

"Listening to loud music through tinny headphones on public transport is a filthy habit and persons committing this offence will render themselves liable to the secret disgust and passive loathing of their fellow passengers, who will, however, take no remedial action against the offending noise for fear of being stabbed."
