So this is the Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse (1875).
Located at Seal Rocks - just a little to the north of Sydney.
Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse stands on a dramatic headland east of Seal Rocks village. Completed in 1875, it is the first lighthouse designed by colonial architect James Barnet and one of only two towers in Australia with an external stairway.
It was originally built to guide ships along the rocky coastline to the north of Sydney, after a number of incidents, including the shipwrecking of the SS Catterthun and the SS Rainbow.
Below the lighthouse are the Lighthouse Keepers’ quarters and outbuildings that have been refurbished to offer holiday accommodation for visitors.

Dickson Hill is one of the most unique communities in the City of Cambridge. Dickson Hill is named for the Honourable William Dickson, a prominent Galt settler who arrived to the area in 1816. Dickson is credited with founding the Village of Galt due to his considerable land holdings and was responsible for much of the commercial development on the west bank of the Grand River.
His son, William Dickson Jr., acquired most of the lands that currently make up the residential area of Dickson Hill. His own residence, located at 16 Byng Avenue was constructed in 1832. The development of the residential component occurred over several decades and by a series of developers. Florence Dickson, niece to William Dickson Jr., and his heir, controlled the development of this area until the 1890’s.
Dickson Hill features an extremely high concentration of significant buildings of various types: residential, institutional, commercial and manufacturing. In addition to the buildings, key elements that define the character of Dickson Hill are:
• Tree-lined streets;
• Distinctive globe street lights; and
• Prominent urban public spaces and landscape features.

Et ne parlons même pas des soucis, manque d’obéissance, inquiétudes multiples et préoccupations qu’ils nous ont apporté pendant cette période qui varie dans le temps suivant le caractère de notre enfant !
Allez savoir ce qu’ils ont dans la tête durant cette période plus ou moins longue de leur adolescence avant de passer à la vie d’adulte et à l’obligation de devoir prendre « leurs responsabilités »

I never realized the lead plant blooms. The color on both foliage and flowers was quite nice but I suspect that won't last. In between gusts of wind I got this shot which includes a bit of the foliage.

Description of Buildings:
Gesu Church is a rectangular structure of structural steel, reinforced-concrete construction and features exterior walls covered with stucco.
An arcaded portico projects from the west façade of the church and is divided by four massive piers into three bays.
The piers and pilasters on the opposite wall rest
on cubical pedestals approximately nine feet high. A chamfered molding serves as a capital for each pier and is repeated, at the same level as a belt course
running completely around the building.
The central bay of the portico projects slightly, and its arch springs from two semi-engaged Doric columns, thus framing
the main entrance of the church.
Articulation of the west wall echoes the tripartite divisions of the portico with semicircular arched portals at each bay. Double doors of wood and glass are recessed within the portal and have dentilled transoms and cartouches above.
The north façade of the church features an elevated basement from which piers rise to the architrave above. Indented panels between the piers contain tall, semi-circular arched stained glass windows.
A tripartite tower complex embellishes the roof. The central tower which is square in plan, rises in a series of steps and contains a belfry with arched windows. Two hipped roof towers flank the central tower.
Gesu Rectory is located directly east of the church and is connected to it. This four story rectangular structure is of structural steel, reinforced concrete construction, and its exterior walls are covered with stucco. Its pedimented gable
roof is covered with Spanish tile.
The main entrance is located in the center bay of the north façade and features a double door with large lights. The majority of windows are three over one double
hung sash. Round arch windows grace the fourth floor.
Gesu School is located east of the rectory. The building is a five story rectangular structure of reinforced concrete construction covered with stucco. A flat roof with parapet tops the building and features a pediment above the main entrance.
The focal point of the building is a grand, three story portico on the north façade. Ionic columns support the portico and are repeated in pilasters separating each bay. The main entrance features a colossal semi-circular arch with double doors.
The Fathers of the Society of Jesus have been instrumental in the establishment of Gesù Catholic Church from its inception. Gesù Parish was established as a result of the large Catholic community present in Miami. The original wooden church was built on land donated by Henry Flagler, and as Miami began to grow the need for a larger Church became a necessity. In 1921, the first cornerstone of this concrete and steel structure was laid to suit the needs of the growing Catholic community in Miami
Through the years, Gesù has been a spiritual ambassador to Catholics living in South Florida. It has taken on many roles aside from being a Church. For more than 75 years, Gesù Church started Gesù School which provided elementary and high school education. The school was run by the Sisters of St. Joseph
In addition, the Centro Hispano Católico at Gesù assisted Cuban refugees and refugees from other Central American countries with basic needs and helped with assimilation into a foreign country. From 1959-1982, the Centro Hispano Católico provided refugees with food, clothes, medical care, jobs, housing, daycare, school tuition, English classes, and immigration assistance. In 1962, Gesù served as headquarters to the Pedro Pan operation which bought more than 14,000 unaccompanied children from Communist Cuba
In September 1961, Gesù housed Belén Jesuit Preparatory School for a year and a half. After being exiled from Cuba, Jesuit Priests opened a school for refugee students who were living in Miami. This was the beginning of Belén Jesuit in South Florida.
Today, Gesù Catholic Church remains the spiritual center of downtown Miami. As the oldest church in South Florida, Gesù invites all to visit this historic landmark that has been serving South Florida’s Catholic community for nearly 120 years.

La pandémie de COVID-19 a exacerbé les inégalités urbaines, transformant une crise sanitaire en une crise d’accès urbain et d’équité. Les conditions de logement ont accru la vulnérabilité des femmes à la violence, et les restrictions de mobilité ont limité leurs possibilités de fuir ces situations. De plus, la fréquentation des transports publics a chuté, ce qui pourrait compromettre les efforts pour un transport durable et sûr.

Housing conditions have increased women's vulnerability to violence, and mobility restrictions have limited their ability to escape these situations. In addition, the use of public transport has declined, which could jeopardise efforts to achieve sustainable and safe transport.
Women have played a crucial role in demonstrations to express their anger at persistent inequalities. For example, on 8 March 2024, more than 30,000 women in Belgium took part in strikes and demonstrations to demand greater respect for care work.
These actions highlight the importance of recognising and valuing women's work, which is often undervalued.

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One # to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other # to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days # staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow # a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left # I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However # I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous # unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。
十八歳だった僕には大切な人がいた。

La Collina Omihachiman which is built by TANEYA Co.,Ltd. as a new business base. TANEYA is a famous company which makes and sells baumkuchen or some sweets. It is known to have many repeat customers, and there is always a line of people.
It looks like unity of architecture and around mountains, well. You should take notice of roof all covered by grass. It need very high level construction technique.

Title: The Morin/Cutler House
Address: 348 Ridge Road North

Reason for Designation
The Morin/Cutler House is a two-storey Second Empire style building with two-toned buff and red brick, and a large “U’ shaped porch with a curved corner mirrored by a curved roof line and curved stairs, located on the east side of Ridge Road North, between Dominion Road and Cutler Street, in downtown Ridgeway.
The Morin/Cutler House’s cultural heritage value lies in it being a rare and representative example of the few Second Empire style houses built in Fort Erie which still survives, displaying excellence and uniqueness in its design, as well as a high degree of craftsmanship. It is a very early example of brick veneer over wood frame construction. The Second Empire style is demonstrated by the mansard roof pierced by many decorative dormers with arch topped windows. The house was originally crowned by a tower with a four sided beilcast roof and three dormers, one on each façade except the back. The first floor windows are arched topped; the brick work is two toned — buff and red. The porch is large and “L” shaped, with a curved corner mirrored by a curved roof line and curved stairs. The woodwork is very ornate, and the large pieces of glass in 1/1 windows in the front portion of the house were very rare for the area.
The Morin/Cutler House’s cultural heritage value also lies in its association with Lt, Col. James Morin and Eber Cutler, who were both significant to the community. James Morin purchased the land upon which this house was constructed as well as the land on the north side of it from the Methodists, in order to fund the building of their church. Eber Cutler, who also built “Roselawn” at 322 King Street in Port Colborne, was the largest builder in the area at the time, and the owner of a saw mill and dry goods store, built the house for James Morin. Morin was his senior manager, and had been with Cutler since apprenticing as a carpenter. Together, they also built the house next door on the north side, at 356 Ridge Road North. James Morin later became a Lt. Col. in the army, and a M.P.P. in the 5th and 6th legislatures. This house was important in establishing and maintaining the dominant Victorian character of the area. Along with 356 Ridge Road North, and the church at 366 Ridge Road North, they are linked together historically and as a streetscape, continuing to represent the unique vision of
Ridgeway.

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

Elle est devenue la marotte de toutes les grandes entreprises technologiques qui souhaitent prouver qu’elles continuent à innover.
Mais ce déchaînement de tokens, de GPU et de prompts cache une réalité écologique peu reluisante !!!
Sam Altman lui-même l’a dit, l’IA ne pourra pas se développer "sans une percée majeure" dans le domaine de l’énergie.
L’intelligence artificielle va donc consommer encore et toujours plus d’énergie dans les années à venir 🤔
L’énergie n’est d’ailleurs pas la seule variable à prendre en compte pour tenter de jauger l’empreinte carbone de l’intelligence artificielle !!!
L’autre grand débat qui anime le milieu de l’intelligence artificielle est sa consommation en eau !
En 2022, Google a reconnu avoir utilisé 22 milliards de litres d’eau pour refroidir ses serveurs.
Difficile à chiffrer concrètement, l’empreinte carbone des IA ne doit pas pour autant être un non-sujet et l’utilisation de ressources telles que l’eau ou l’énergie doit faire l’objet d’un débat démocratique …
Cela permettrait non seulement, comme l’exprime l’ancienne googleuse Timnit Gebru, de réduire "l’accès inéquitable aux ressources, qui affecte de manière disproportionnée les personnes déjà marginalisées", mais aussi de cesser de décorréler la magie de l’informatique de ses conséquences climatiques 🤔

It has become the favorite of all major technology companies who want to prove that they continue to innovate.
But this unleashing of tokens, GPUs and prompts hides a bleak ecological reality !!!
Sam Altman himself said it, AI will not be able to develop "without a major breakthrough" in the field of energy.
Artificial intelligence will therefore consume even more energy in the years to come 🤔

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

The Junction Mine was first pegged in 1884. The Broken Hill Junction Silver Mining Company was formed in 1886, and sunk the Browne (possibly originally the Penglass shaft), King and MacIntyre shafts. The mine closed initially in 1901, but re-opened in 1906 using the Browne shaft and struggled along until 1923.
The mine was acquired by the North Mine C.1931. It was mined again from 1946 to 1962 when it was sold to Broken Hill South Ltd. Operations continued through to 1972 after which time the mine closed.

Together! Today the danish parliament has made a law that gives hetero- and homosexual couples the same - equal - marriage rights! Finally! We can now choose to be married in church or town hall, and not only at the town hall.
We have had the "civil partnership"-law since 1989, but from now on it does no longer exist: we are now a part of the marriage laws :-)
Dans un livre intitulé “On ne naît pas soumise, on le devient” (tiré de sa thèse en philosophie), la chercheuse Manon Garcia, analyse la théorie de Simone de Beauvoir au prisme des conflits qui agitent les femmes : beaucoup d'entre elles culpabilisent de vouloir être à la fois libérées et choyées !
Dans la culture occidentale, une femme est forcément une créature soumise, qui aime être courtisée…
Naturellement soumise, la femme et biologiquement dominateur l'homme ?

Le problème, c'est que le modèle de la femme féminine (soumise) reste prégnant et cohabite avec le modèle antinomique de la femme émancipée 🤔
Même les femmes les plus indépendantes et les plus féministes se surprennent à aimer le regard conquérant des hommes sur elles, à désirer être un objet soumis dans les bras de leur partenaire, ou à préférer des tâches ménagères … les petits plaisirs du linge bien plié, du petit-déjeuner joliment préparé pour la famille ou des activités censément plus épanouissantes.
Ces désirs, ces plaisirs sont-ils incompatibles avec leur indépendance ?
Est-ce trahir les siècles de féminisme qui les ont précédées ?
Peut-on attendre que les hommes fassent le «premier pas» et revendiquer l’égalité des sexes ?
Les récents scandales sexuels qui ont agité le monde entier ont jeté une lumière crue sur ces ambivalences et sur l’envers de la domination masculine : le consentement des femmes à leur propre soumission !!!
Tabou philosophique et point aveugle du féminisme, la soumission des femmes n’est jamais analysée en détail, dans la complexité des existences vécues 😉

The recent sexual scandals which have shaken the whole world have shed a harsh light on these ambivalences and on the other side of male domination: the consent of women to their own submission !!!
Philosophical taboo and blind spot of feminism, the submission of women is never analyzed in detail, in the complexity of lived existences 😉
