Here's a Red-shouldered Hawk on its way to the nest with some additional nesting material. I believe that the Florida Red-shouldered breed earlier than the species in other parts of the country. Once site had them breeding from January to May when general reference books state the species breed from May to July. In any event, I'm hoping that they are not just faking us out and that we have some new chicks to celebrate. In the course of my reading I learned that the females are larger than the males (probably smarter too) and that the pair are monogamous. Having said that, I've never been able to see the size difference but will pay more attention in the future. Happy 2023 everyone. (Buteo lineatus)

La maison est datée du 15eme et 16 ème siècle. Elle est construite à Saint aubin le Cauf mais déplacée à la Ferté saint Samson soit une distance supérieure à 50 km au début du 20 éme siècle par maître Jean Videcoq, notaire à Forges les eaux amoureux des vieilles pierres. Elle porte ce nom car elle aurait hébergé le roi Henry 4 en 1589 lors de la bataille d'Arques opposant les catholiques aux protestants.

Le col du Tourmalet est un col de montagne des Pyrénées centrales françaises, à une cinquantaine de kilomètres au sud de Tarbes, dans le département des Hautes-Pyrénées en région Occitanie. Il est emprunté par la route des cols.

Du haut de ses 2 115 m, il offre une vue spectaculaire sur le pays Toy et la vallée du Bastan. Au pied du Pic du Midi de Bigorre, il est un passage mythique du Tour de France.

Patience and skill pay off for this Black Bear. During the fall and winter months when the salmon migrate up the creeks and rivers to reproduce, the Black Bears take advantage. The Black Bears fatten up on salmon which helps them gain the needed weight for the colder winter months.

It is estimated there are more than 120,000 Black Bears in British Columbia and over 7,000 Black Bears on Vancouver Island, making it one of the more dense places in the world for this bear population.

Note, photo taken in a very dark environment, so I had to do some editing to get rid of noise due to high iso. Not the best image quality, but I like the story telling element I was able to capture.
