Taken during a walk in the woods around San Zeno di Montagna, where my family lives. The bright green leaves in the center captured my attention...
The quilt top is done! It's far, FAR from perfect but I am in love anyway.
I used my Curve Master presser foot to sew the 224 (!!) curved seams. It works very well (I didn't need to use a single pin on the curves and it only took one evening to sew all of them) but takes some practice. As a result some curved seams ended up more accurate than others and so some of the curves don't match perfectly at the corners. Luckily I'm not a perfectionist!
My plan is to do a loopy meandering in light grey thread. I'm going to use purple fabric for the binding (either Kona Crocus or Jewels in purple from the 1001 Peeps line by Lizzy House.) For the backing I am going to use the Scherazade print in purple from the 1001 Peeps line. It's a print of purple stars so it's perfect!
The quilt top measures about 66" by 75". Each star is 6" square and the sashing is 3" wide. Pattern/fabric information is here.

Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her patterns, so that each small piece of her fabric reveals the organization of the entire tapestry.
