The pants were drafted and sewn by me and have pockets, a back yoke, zipper and button. The top is a shirred blouse made from 2 fat quarters and two fat quarters cut in half
Dress I finished yesterday. Testing out pattern and fit. I tried draping instead of flat patternmaking as I usually do. It took time to make the pattern this way, but I like the results.
A craft apron I made to match my crochet hook case. Came out better than the case did!! I can use it when I'm sewing or patternmaking. I plan on some more Disney cosplay eventually, so here's to having a matching apron!!
© Copyright Jan Richards 246/365 Trying to make a pattern from a dress Anne really liked and wanted me to wear for the rehearsal dinner for their wedding. In the end, I wore the original dress...patternmaking will have to wait for another time (I used to sew a LOT and designed the bridesmaids' dresses for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding, and ours, but there was enough going on in all parts of life at the time of Anne and John's wedding that Anne hoped I'd buy a dress this time around). The tough thing with the dress Anne loved for me for the rehearsal dinner was the smocked waistline. It is a beautiful feature of the dress, and it would have taken HOURS to try to replicate. I know already: I made a dress for Anne to wear to my grad school graduation on her second birthday, and the decorative smocking on that dress took hours and hours and hours. I still have it, in case she has a daughter (or more than one...) who wants to wear it, and/or Matt does, when it is their turn to be parents.
