I had to stop for that one. Perfect lighting and simetry...

Scavenge challenge - pattern. There is repetition but not in a straight line. This is one of many pieces of material ready for sewing when I know what to sew with it.

2018 one photo each day

Seen in Berne and taken with the Sony A7 Mark2 and the Zeiss Batis 1.8/85 at F=1.8.

Every year I can't resist taking pictures of these flowers which are a tall Phlox. I have/ had pink ones too but I haven't seen them this year so maybe they have gone away. The yard is a constantly changing and evolving eco system. :)

The sun stands still for no one, constantly changing shadows, lighting and the general atmosphere... You have little time to meditate and contemplate your subject... you must quickly decide your course of action, and with verve and emotion, capture the essence of your subject. ~ Sidney Hermel

This is a photo of patterns in the sand at Clam Harbour Beach created by the flow of water in a shallow stream.

More ice patterns...this time from last year

The side entrance of a restaurant .

painting on paper...size 51 x 41 cm...Windsor & newton block of acrylic paper with canvasstructure...I just love to paint on this paper...but when framing it is much easier with an ordinary canvas....but I just like this paper and paint on both sides...depends...this is on the not structured side of it...It is a block of paper that I just had and not used for a long periode but sometimes you just go through what you have and find things that turn up more useful than you thought....

outside the weather is so good...spring is definitely here though it is still a bit cold and you need to wear gloves and something around your neck still....

We are closer to spring than from last fall, so that is optimistic. By the end of next week we could be getting close to 50 degrees. If the forecast is accurate, I'll be out photographing next Thursday - Saturday. First flawed efforts from the new camera and long lens could follow shortly thereafter.

This tiny refrigerator magnet has an amazing pattern of scales - plus it has the rubbery feel of a real fish skin. It is older than the hills - but I still treasure it.

HMM everyone!

Number three in my theme for this week Colour Swirl.

Playing with pattern brushes again

A cluster of rocks on Aber beach Brittany, the patterns created by water and the breeze.

Looking out on the harvested wheat fields, Pete Seeger's song started playing in my head. Turn, turn, turn. 'To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven'. There's a time to plant and a time to reap. The stages, the patterns and the rhythms are a part of life. Hopefully they help us all to thrive and to find peace.

I can't explain my fascination with sunflowers
