Leftover on our lanai screen from yesterday's storm that blew out power for about 30,000 households in Tallahassee. Our power was restored six hours later. This might also be the beginning of mildew or similar growth taking hold in a crowded field of what resembles bacterial colonies.

Uni assignment: I went to China as part of one of my units and for the unit I had to do a project reflecting upon my experience in China. I decided to create 3 fabric patterns. I saw a bunch of white pigeons in one of the gardens and I was also really enamoured by the lotus leaves and flowers there. The colours also came from China, they had an odd usage of these bright colours.
This is my favourite, I can imagine it on a scarf.

I've been inspired by the members of the Cocorico Bee and my fabulous Beehivers to start drafting my own paper-pieced designs!
At this stage I'm just dipping my toe in the water. So far I've modified a couple of patterns, and with this one I've tried drafting a block based on a picture I saw of a completed quilt. It's very angular, which hopefully will be comparitively easy to achieve.
It's for my Bug's Beehive quilt, "The Busy Sea at Night". Can you guess what it is?
