After being totally immersed and awed by the vastness of nature's grandeur it was fun to have something that could be wiped out with a single footprint catch my eye.

Designed by John Portman, the building has one of the largest open atriums in Southeast Asia, which rises through 21 levels and is permeated by natural light.
Each of the 575 rooms is accessed from the balconies overlooking the atrium and has views of the Singapore harbour and the city skyline.
We were challenged to produce and image with an element of 'long exposure' by our local photography group, so I tried some light painting.
A small pencil light housing a tiny red, blue and green led bulb. I suspended this from a central ceiling light fitting and with the camera set for a 20sec long exposure, swung the pencil light in an ecliptical (oval) motion !!
My camera was on the floor directly under the light and as it doesn't have a flip screen it was a lot of guesswork regarding position and focus !!!
After many failed outcomes, I eventually came up with this image!!
For my next attempts (that can be seen on my photostream) I used my husband's bridge camera that does have a flip screen and this definitely made life a lot easier......
One of my phals. Like many, these were my "starter" orchids. When the first one rebloomed, I got another, and then another, then stepped out on a limb and got a Nobile-type dendrobium, and on and on it went. I am now a full blown orchid addict!
The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization has really cool light-up signage, see this google map link if you want to see what it actually looks like: www.google.com/maps/@45.013513,-93.2718211,3a,75y,265.36h...
I found this pattern on a log in the woods. I guess they were made by bugs while tree was still bark on the trunk.
