Week 24 2017: Patterns
Hi there! I've been really busy with my studies last month but I finally got some time to take my camera for a walk.
Recently the artist Invader was in the city, and this is one of the invasions he made.
Anyway, the pattern I wanted to highlight here is that huge concrete structure that seems me like a ribcage.
Hope you like it!
Modified from a worn-out cap. Print this image (as you would a photo) on letter-size paper then enlarge or reduce it (with a photocopier or playing with printer settings) to attain the desired size, using the scale bar as your guide. Instructions are Here (and here, if you can't access the patternreview site).
Week 11 submission: Patterns
I was traveling this week and saw this while walking in downtown Walnut Creek, CA. I'll be on the mainland for a few months.

Snow accumulating on tree branches during a snowstorm may begin to melt as afternoon temperatures start to rise. The subsequent dripping water creates a characteristic pattern beneath the overhanging branches. Color is added to the scene by a few seeds blown from a nearby Tulip Tree.
There are wrinkles and imperfections because an actual mushroom, outside, was used to create this pattern.
A long weekend has finally enabled me to catch up on some scanning...
So, back on Harris, at the beach at Seilebost. Fantastic sand patterns here and I made several images with both the Pentax and the digital. I worked out that conditions were best when the tide had just receded as once the sand was dry, the patterns got disbursed more in the wind. I'll upload a few single images but I may do a tripych in the future....mostly because I don't know how to do a triptych in PS and therefore it will be a good learning experience!

Patterns beneath our feet
The next four pattern photos were all taken in Perth city centre. I was heading in for coffee with a friend, so I left about 15 minutes early to look for some photo opps.
So, a challenge and a time constraint… and a lens constraint – only using my 14mm.
My first shot was the patterns in these cobbles. I think they are mesmerising.

A hosta leaf with droplets. I don't usually post process mm shots, but I really like the way the patterns are emphasized using the paint daubs effect in pse 10. I also used pixlr express collage to divide the image into 3 parts and then swapped the locations of the first and third panels. The original shot is in the first comment box below.
