This is a random, circular piece of wrought iron we found somewhere many years ago. We had no idea how we would use it at the time. We ended up placing it on an extra stone piece from a fountain in our yard and made it into a little decorative table.

Trees have some patterns and textures that I like to observe.

Patterns in the sand can make a great composition, but it takes ages of contemplation to try and make it work. This image really racked my compositional brain as it looks quite messy but I'm pleased with the end result. I think the sunset colours helped. Thanks for looking:-)

The above is called "tempayan" in Malay. It is actually an earthenware jar - though this one is actually huge. It is about 3 feet high and could easily hold a person.

It originates from China and use to store food, pickled food, water or other preserved food such as fish and in the olden days, it even stores dead bodies.

Pattern and Textures grown in nature - Organische Muster und Texturen in der Natur

I love patterns and see them all over, as I go about. Angles, diagonals, lines, circles, lights, shadows, colours - they're everywhere. They come small, they come large and they're absolutely everywhere.

some of the rock patterns found the in the Murchison River canyon in Kalbarri, Western Australia are quite spectacular... you can see the nature's creation and artistry at its best... this particular spot attracted my attention for quite a while, when we were walking through the canyon...

Patterning made using a photo of a woven keychain; the original was blue and green and gold.

The brush size was the same in all the rows, but the spacing varied. The rows were made different colors, and the color was inverted.

This is photo 4 in a set of 4 nearly identical scenes in which the rapidly moving clouds provided an ever changing illumination pattern. It was quite spectacular to watch it unfold. The scene is of the Painted Hills in the John Day Fossil Beds.

The evening pattern these days seems to be a glimpse of sunlight after a day of fog. Is it just a teaser of a sign of hope? Is it symbolic of anything?
