There is a difference between being fashionably late and being so late that you miss the festivities altogether. I know I missed the cherry blossom season, but I just found this photo in the deep recesses of my computer’s hard drive so I thought I would join in a bit late. Maybe I am so tardy that I am actually early for next year’s season. I guess either way, I missed the party.
The poppies give additional pathos to the subject. Bomber Command finally positively remembered.
I didn't consciously notice the back of the woman's head at the time, but I realise it gives scale and additional meaning to the work.
My father,Sgt. Arthur Alec Jeffries ( Navigator) survived being shot down over Le Mans in a Halifax Mark II bomber.. I find the memorial very moving, especially the addition of written and printed memories of lost airmen.

Thomson Airways Boeing 737 8K5 G-FZDE accelerates towards the end of the runway at Birmingham Airport with the ill-fated 14:05 ZB946 to Pathos.
The responses were of serious concern and concentration as my friends stood on a bluff overlooking the historic city of Toledo, Spain. Missionary Gary Sones was speaking of the Spanish Inquisition, and of its influence on Christianity, directing our attention across the canyon to the very buildings from which these orders were issued.
