My pathetic attempt at a tree. XD

But yeah... Lala is very fond of trees - so I TRIED to make her hug one... haha.

Don't know if it turned out too good though. XD

Vlad: you're pathetic....

Action shot attempt with 56mm lens:) pretty pathetic, don't know how people do it ( using so short focal ) total waist of time for me, have to be 2m from the dog to frame it the way I like and that fact alone destroys my whole idea of free run mode;) last time I've taken it outdoor, may flog it to get that super zoom lens;) Do not ever buy Sigma lenses:))...their AF system is so archaic, they are cheep but they are garbage;)

what are you working on, consort?

we are examining the remains of this human, sire.

yes? for what purpose?

we will attempt to replicate the organism, so as to insert our own cell structure into the body cavity, for re-deployment on earth, and eradication of the nascent species.

excellent! those pathetic humans. so clueless, aren't they?

yes, sire.

keep the line moving, consort! hahaha!

haha!!! sir.

Pathetic looking Missabe-Era code line still dots the aptly named Missabe Subdivision in certain locations as Canadian National train U711 (running Main 2) makes its exit of Iron Junction, MN. Having been loaded at U.S. Steel’s Minntac operation in Mountain Iron, the taconite train will make a run to the docks in Duluth this evening.

Pathetic places need horse (or gondola) races; this one gives a chance for modern rollerbladers too, I think. The magic scenography of the large elliptical place PRATO DELLA VALLE in Padua (Padova, Italy) is a variation of the big amphitheater of this town which already has been well known 4 hundred years before Christ. Though deleted completely in the year 600 by the Logobardes this city is still living. The foundation of the university (1222), where Galilei worked, the big city walls (16th century) or this powerful urban construction PRATO DELLA VALLE (18th century) is a visual sign. Nowadays the architect Libeskind has built a September Eleven (2001) memorial – or Kengo Kuma’s architectural work is presented in the old town-hall PALAZZO DELLA RAGIONE (12th century). Something to criticize? Yes. The pope put the statue of GARIBALDI away. In the middle of the place of Garibaldi now we can find a Madonna-statue...

The reason behind my finding this school is, perhaps, a bit silly . . . maybe even pathetic. I had no idea what I'd find in the barely there village of Le Loup (south of Baldwin City, Kansas), but I was drawn there by a memory . . . a regret.

Many years ago, when Disco was king, I frequented a number of different dance floors, but one of my favorites was in Lawrence. I think it was called the "Palladium" though it's been so long I'm not certain. In any case, it was in a former bowling alley--now converted to a disco--of that name. I usually went with my best friend, Allen, but he was unable to make it this time so I went alone. To make a long story short, after dancing several times with a three or four different gals, I asked a fairly voluptuous, long blonde-haired woman to dance, and after the song had ended, she invited me back to her table. We sat a chatted off and on between dances, yelling at each other over the blaring music that no doubt damaged our hearing a trifle. I don't remember much about what we said. I recall she worked as an aide in a retirement community and was 19 (I was 26 or so at the time), and that she lived in Le Loup--a place I'd never even heard of. Here's the thing: in spite of the fact that she was gorgeous and personable, I didn't feel that attracted to her. I have no idea why. We stayed until closing and I walked her to her car. It was clear she was interested in me--something I found a bit flabbergasting as I simply wasn't used to women who were drop-dead gorgeous showing much interest in me. Maybe that partially explains what was going on with me--I just couldn't fully believe what I was sensing. I don't really know.

We chatted by her car a bit, and then she asked me if she could kiss me. I said sure, we kissed, and then she said, "I'll never forget you."

I thought I would see her again at the disco--thinking maybe a spark would eventually ignite in me, but I never did, see her again that is.

How ironic. She said that SHE'D never forget me, but It's I who've never forgotten her.

So, While driving through the countryside, looking for something to photograph back in 2016, I saw a sign indicating a turnoff for Le Loup. So I took it. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting to see her. I guess it was just a matter of investigating an old ghost that to a small extent has been haunting me for almost 40 years.

In any case, I was happy to find this old school. I wonder if it was in use when she was in school? :-)

I do not support my government's pathetic support of Putin.

Or, as Tony Leon says: 'By thumbing our nose at the West, things can only go south. In aligning itself with Russia in the Ukraine conflict, the ANC is being foolishly selective and short-sighted."

You might be a little embarrassed by Cyril Ramaphosa’s new role as Putin’s parrot, blandly repeating all the Kremlin lines and lies allegedly justifying Moscow’s unprovoked invasion of a sovereign country and firing deadly missiles at hospitals, theatres and shopping centres...

Likely, most of you(there's a laugh considering my pathetic level of exposure here on flickr)don't know very much about black bears, such as the fact that they are at least just as intelligent as primates, like Chimpanzees, Baboons, and Gorillas.

Likely you didn't know they can form seemingly complex relationships with favored bears, such as above where the two siblings have great affection for one another, and have partnered up with each other for two years since they were forced out by their mother.

Its also quite likely you know nothing about what this first day of July heralds for them here in Wisconsin, wherein the most murderous, evil humans, you could ever imagine, are free to chase these awesome creatures with packs of savage dogs as practice for the fall season in which the same murderous humans are then allowed to murder them!

Hounders as we refer to them, chase bear with Plott hounds, the contacts between the dogs and the bear are always vicious and violent with dogs routinely killed.

The radio/GPS collared dogs are followed by their sport killing owners in either ATV's, or pick-up trucks, when the dogs succeed in treeing, or bringing a bear to bay, the brave sport killer drives up and shoots dead the helpless creature...

Make no mistake, this is an entirely evil pursuit, I have no doubts that if it were allowed, the sport killers would just as joyously run down your ten or twelve year old child and murder them for sport, and you need to react to them as just such a menace...

It's been over a year, even though this park is within walking distance from where we live! Pathetic lazy photographer!

The sad appearance of the once-proud Espee motor was almost comical at this point; the old 8292 was built in 1980 and at one time looked a lot better.

The tree is looking much prettier this year. Last year's blooms were pathetic, and it bloomed while I was in Italy. Fair trade.

Day Twenty Three:

Once upon a time there was a little green man. However his green hue was a wholly unnatural occurrence. There was no Martian about this person. He did not come from beyond the cosmos hailing from a galaxy far far away. No, this was an individual almost as ordinary as the rest of us.

However.

He was cursed with an unfortunate problem. One that we have all touched upon to a certain degree but he was infested with it. Plagued with the beast with the emerald optics. The Green-Eyed Monster. It chips away at you piece by piece as you want and need everything that the other person has. Causing you to throw scorn on every achievement no matter how great.

It was impossible for him to hide this. The monster inside consumed him until it was no longer secluded silently under the surface. Leaving him to be expelled from society, cast out to live a life of exile. Where his envy would slowly eat away at him. Then this husk of a creature would expire. His only contribution to the world being his going back to the earth.

He did not live happily ever after but where he lay grew the lushest of green grass. Though from beyond the grave he was sure the other sides was greener.

What a pathetic string of words,

Just leave them lying on the floor.

The warning posted on the door,

"Not over here, not anymore."

There was a place that could have been.

Step over all that used to be.

Since you have let yourself come in;

Some things I'd rather you not see.

See, I keep lying to myself,

Don't know what else there is to do.

If I could be somebody else,

Well, I think I would for you

Music

My pathetic attempt to pan a tram in Prague. I panned a whole lot of them and that's the best I could come up with...

If you want to see how it's properly done though, have a look at at this superb photo by my friend Mikko who had the same idea but knew when and how to do it ;-))

Sometimes breaking the ice can be awkward and sometimes it's just plain pathetic .....

I do like this shot. The closer tree is in my front yard. It does look pretty but snow sucks! It's Wednesday now and still snowing too! YUCK!

A pathetic HDR attempt.

There were garbage scattered around, and I swept them leaving only the empty bottle for whatever purpose that it will give.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A really crusty UP GE and a patched former Southern Pacific AC4400CW were stinking up the place around O'Hare with a northbound coal load.

The condition of that lead motor just begged for a photo. Company pride at its finest.

The site of a pathetic "peaceful" use of a nuclear bomb to "liberate" natural gas. The end result, of course, was that the gas was contaminated with radioactivity (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Rulison). I gather the radiation available from this resource is actually in the "safe" zone (perhaps!), but no one really feels like being test subjects. Unreasonable humans! I think this is Anvil Points, but am not sure since I did not do a map check when I was out there. April spring storm

A bit pathetic I know lol..I don't have any new dolly pics to upload so pls be kind.

I have always been driven to "be somebody"...but also loathing the idea of the limelight when it is thrust upon me. A paradoxical condition...this wanting to be inside...but then when got get there, newly arrived amidst the great and the good, still with your ladder under your arm, pathetic ambition...stifled laughter from those who remember well enough their own struggles and cleanse their wounded feelings by laughing at the newcomer.

The look of amused bafflement as you fall out into the bright glare of the delivery room, covered in blood and mucus.

Pride give'th and pride take'th away.

I put these together at the Big Bang Data exhibition at Somerset House - finding the exhibition a bit boring I thought I'd try and get value for money by putting my camera on a bench and sort of pretending I was on stage. I got a few quizzical looks from security but thankfully few people were around.

VEGA Bar Wegański

I've had a dig in one of my old hard disks and found this photo from 2009. Petra is standing inside a substantial wheel (pit?) for a series of workings on the hill to the left. There are leats and earthworks, but the area is badly degraded by farming activity.

According to Dave Linton on his excellent "Meirioneth Manganese" site, there are a number of workings and trials (marked as “Lead” on the 1890 6" map [OS 1st edn: XIX NE]) on the north side of the stream in Coed Caerwych at SH641368 and SH643366 and there are stumps of dry-stone launder pillars (SH644365) and a large masonry structure which probably contained (or was intended to contain) a water wheel (SH645365). Wilkinson also lists the mine, as a lead mine.

Taken on my pathetic Fuji Finepix.

Apparently, not all Bostons look as pathetic as my Boston, Dottie (right).

Many Dark Hunters had questioned the Shadowed One's decision to allow the pathetic and skittish Pahuron into their ranks (of course, none dared question aloud). However, it wasn't long after "Misfit's" encounter with "Toa" Irohka that they realized his true purpose. The Dark Hunters had been working on a power-amplifying suit, and the damaged Toa Mech gave them the last pieces they needed. The only thing remaining was to find a willing pilot.

Now wielding enormous strength and a blue fire blade and with a suit insulated against a variety of elemental attacks, the renamed Dark Hunter Crusher has few that stand in his way.

My entry for BBC 73: Brickin' it Old School. I revamped an old tablescrap of mine that I always liked while channeling a bit of Chro, the Boxor, and even good old "Toa" Irohka. Hope you enjoy, and don't forget to vote! :)

CSX Q410 rolls past ongoing Metro construction in Franconia back in 1994. The former RF&P mainline was firmly under CSX control and patched GP40 6858 is unfortunate photographic evidence of that fact.

It's even worse now considering that in 1999 Conrail also went away. We can never have nice things.

Created for cliche scavenger hunt umbrella and personal BAM challenge with Frank.Theme: "Wet"

It was one of those weeks. I felt like I had a target on my back and everyone took a shot. I had a rain cloud over my head.

This was very hard for me to do. Standing in front of a camera and having to come up with a facial expression. It's easy enough to do with my family snapshots with my kids and smiling friends. Something totally different when it's just me and the L lens. It didn't help that my oldest son was standing to my right telling me "mom, don't make that face, you look doofy. Now you look like you have buck teeth." Kids say the darndest things.

This is me with my buck teeth tucked neatly inside my mouth. Please be kind with your comments. The mousey and pathetic look was intentional.

Check out Frank's interpretation here
