I got Patches (mom named her) at Savers in Fountain Valley, CA. She seems to be homemade. I can feel an old voice box inside her but it no longer works.

There are numerous kinds of sedges and sedge like plants in this prairie. This type forms spreading mats in areas of loose sand. It has short rhizomes that probably allow it to stay at the surface of the shifting sand and not be buried.

No idea what kind of sedge it is.

Was attempting to capture the moment when the sun was just starting to shine through the clouds and illuminated this patch of ground while the surrounded area remained dark. Not exactly how I wanted it to turn out, but its alright.

This was a pumpkin patch tent on SR 54. These are typical down in Florida because we can't grow our own pumpkins. Pumpkins are shipped in from other states, then set up in tents for sale.

It's been quite a first week. Need to get these sewn onto my uniform.
