No visit to Boston is complete without a visit to Mike's Pastry in the North End. The cannoli are world famous! But be prepared to wait in line...

Second breakfast at hotel Post in Gothenburg almost exactly a year ago.

More coffee, of course, a thin slice of Danish pastry and a small glass of their delicious, in-house made smoothie.

Trays of Chocolate Chip pastries for the triathletes

I found a group of these flies eclosing, foraging, mating, and ovipositing at Carolina Beach State Park (NC, USA) on a hot spring day in 2008. This is an improved version of an image previously posted.

Most robber flies lay eggs in the soil, but this group lays them in a mass on grass stems. HFDF!

If I'm being honest while the food was good--it was their Pastries that WOW'd me! AND--SOOOO dangerous as most were bite sized.

Early during the pandemic, this bakery decided to approach things with a wicked sense of humor. They made pastries that resembled the molecular corona virus.

Definitely Dreaming - Week 4 Forks

When my Aunt married in 1951, she was given a canteen of cutlery. The ordinary knives and forks were well used, but I don't think she ever used the pastry forks (or the fish cutlery), as they still look as good as new. I've had them since she died in 1992, and I don't think I've use them either.

5x7 Oil on Canvas portrait of an old friend and mentor and honestly one of the finest pastry chefs alive. Inspired by a personal photograph.

never ending love for this pastry :), the homemade choux pastry in the late afternoon.

Coming back from an appointment recently, I decided to stop for some lunch in the Greek Artisan Pastry cafe. They have a small outlet down in Portobello (Edinburgh's seafront area) that I used to enjoy going to when I worked down there, so I paid a visit to their larger cafe in the city centre. Excellent range of savoury and sweet pastries, very happy and satisfied tummy afterwards!
