close up of forearm with the kneeling lady holding a lotus. the orange spots are watercolor pencil where I measured a straight line from palm to elbow so the design would be straight when the arms were raised.
The concept was to create an elbow to fingertip henna design but instead of the standard hindi, to create patterns taken from Egyptian art.
I used Riffat's lovely premixed henna paste: www.riffat.co.uk
Came across these one day after a photoshoot by Ontario and 2nd area. Thought they looked neat and could use these one day for background textures. Feel free to use'em.

6.5 X 5 paste paper Arches Text wove and Arches Text wove plain paper. Acrylic, Dr. Martins Bleedproff White, stencils, pan pastels, die cuts, embossing, rubber stamps, ribbon, inktense blocks, hand lettering collage.
Ah yes, calla lilies and orchids all made from gum paste! The bride was delighted, she'd changed her mind so many times, I think she was pleased to have a cake at all!

My tip is to use the blender, not the kitchen machine. And shake it vigorously like a mad man. It will start to blend at the bottom and slowly, while you shake it, more pieces get blended in until at the end you have this smooth currypaste.
You can never get it that smooth in your kitchen machine with the big blades.
