Participated in the everyday messenger bag Kickstarter by Peak Design. Got the bag two weeks ago (finally!) and have to say it surpassed my expectations: it's really awesome!
It has lots of space for two bodies and few lenses + 15" Macbook etc but one can overstuff it to be too heavy :D
The bag is really well thought and has minor details that helps when photographing. Highly recommended! If Peak Design creates a good backbag, I'll buy it, too!

Participated in a turtle release while in Acapulco Mexico - - it was interesting hearing how the biologist has fine-tuned there release process during her 30 years of doing it.
One interesting fact is that they wait until the turtles are a little larger such that the gulls can not even swallow them - - that way - - even if the gull manages to swoop down and get one - - they can't swallow it and will spit it out into the ocean.

To my surprise, my younger son thought that he would bring it in an art exhibition. They can not say more than NO. But I said: NO ... because the sense of street art is .... that anyone can see it without paying for it. But he said, in this exhibition the entrance is free because everyone can participate. And so Alfred Hitchcock landed in an exhibition.
Well ... I learned the rest from him by mobile phone ... I was traveling in San Francisco, USA and could not believe it ...
Tired and exhausted after the long flight - but as excited as a little kid ... haha ... brought me the taxicab first in the exhibition and then home .... happy and a little proud. It's not the Guggenheim but the joy was as if it had been * LOL *

Great to participate in SHIPtember again! This year’s SHIP took me two weeks to build and is 105 studs long. There’s a light brick incorporated in the bridge and the SHIP is sturdy enough to be swooshed easily.
Weight: 5.26 pounds (2.39 kilograms).

Boom boom boom boom!
I just finished participating in November 16th's Macro Mondays challenge, "Keyhole," where I viewed and commented on multiple hundreds of images of orphaned keyholes (there were no keys allowed). This left me feeling a bit unsettled. Locks and keys go together like peanut butter and jelly; love and marraige, a horse and carriage... (you know the song). So, I felt compelled to create an image of a complete lock/key combination so I could go back to being able to sleep at night.
Strobist/technical info:
The lock was staged on a piece of glass with a black fabric background. Two Nikon SB900 speedlights were placed 90-degress CL and CR, 18" away and 24" above subject, pointing down at 45-degree angles. They were each fired in Manual mode through 24" x 24" Neewer soft boxes. The CL strobe was fired @1⁄4 power; CR @ 1⁄8 power. A third speedlight, a Nikon SB700 with Gary Fong 5th Gen Lightsphere attached, was placed CR at camera level and aimed directly at subject for fill. It was placed in Manual mode and fired @ 1⁄8 power.
The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's; the SB700 was placed in SU-4 mode and triggered by the other strobes.
Lens: AF - S DX VR Zoom - Nikkor 18 - 200mm f / 3.5 - 5.6G IF - ED with a 20mm extension tube attached.

Nog de hele maand maart geopend op zaterdag en zondag tussen 13.00 en 17.00 uur.
Tijdens de opening zijn inmiddels 2 foto's verkocht. (strak afgedrukt op aluminium)
Er is een mooie catalogus waarin alle foto's mooi afgedrukt zijn en van elke foto zijn ook hele mooie kaarten te koop. Groter, mooier en ook goedkoper dan de gemiddelde wenskaart bij de boekensupers en stations of postagentschappen.

I participated in the Field Of Women 2007 at Sydney Olympic Stadium, before the AFL Game on Sat night.
There were 13,000 women in pink ponchos and 100 men in blue ponchos, to help raise money for Breast Cancer.
Before the AFL game started we had to go out onto the football field and form "the pink lady" which is the symbol for Breast Cancer Research. This was us before in the hall, waiting to be called out.
It was an amazing event to take part in, and I'm so glad I did it.
It cost $50-per person and 100% of that went to the Cancer Research, therefore at 13,100- people, they raised $655,000- that night:-) WOO HOO!!
Participating in sports car races at Virginia International Raceway, I pass this car used to haul carbon black to the Bridgestone Bandag plant in Oxford, NC. Apparently a bad order it has been sitting there for a number of years and even now has a pinetree growing in front of it. If one enlarges the pic, one can see that the car has a chain holding the left side of the truck to the rail.

We participated in the South First Fridays ArtWalk, a nighttime tour through galleries, museums, and independent creative businesses in San Jose, California. One street was closed for cars and converted into a street fair. This booth had glassware for sale, perfect for a bokeh shot with the Dream Lens.
I processed a balanced and a realistic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Last August we participated in the South First Fridays ArtWalk, a nighttime tour through galleries, museums, and independent creative businesses on San Jose, California. One street was closed for cars and converted into a street fair. This is a booth that offers hanna body designs. It was late at night, it looks like the artist is taking a break talking with a friend.
I processed a balanced, a realistic, and a paintery HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
