A view of the historic seat of the Académie Française on the Quai de Conti. The Baroque dome by Louis Le Vau stands out beautifully against the moody, cloud-filled Parisian sky.

A distinctive feature of the sqaure are the beautiful lamp-posts from which the lamps hang on a spiral bracket. I'm not sure at what date these would have been added.

... the big black tower dominates everything.
