The Relais Odeon (Bistro 1900) is located on one of Paris' oldest little squares - La Cour du Commerce St. Andre'. At night it greets you with cheerful lighting and warm wood interior and exterior. You can see the lights shining inside, so very inviting. Not visible at this size is the fact that the signs on either side of the window are actually made of mosaic tiles. Lovingly designed and beautifully crafted, these signs are made of thousands of little mosaic pieces that you can see in the large size I posted.
The cobblestone here is some of the most ancient of Paris and escaped being torn out, unlike much of Paris' cobblestones were after the Commune of 1870 or the 1968 student demonstrations.
Just a few steps away is the Cour de Rouan, and Le Procope, Paris' oldest traditional cafe serving coffee.
No! And Hell No! You cannot try to hire one of these luxury Stretch Limousines to chauffeur you up-and-down the Fabulous Las Vegas Strip! 😏 You must walk!

One of the best views in my opinion of Paris is from the Arc de Triomphe. I've created a series of 5 of these images to show the spectacular view of Paris from the top of the Arc and tried hard to process them all similarly.--Dave

Hey! Do you remember the first time you and your very lovely lady danced here? It was about 23 years ago and your first dance was the East Coast Swing and it was piano night! 🤔😌 You two wouldn’t leave the club until the piano man played a Burt Bacharach song that you two could dance a Rumba to — so the piano man played ‘The Look Of Love’ by Burt Bacharach, Hal David, and originally sung by Dionne Warwick. 😏
This building was built in 1920-1923 by the architect Frédéric Bertrand (1869-1956). Dorel was founded in 1900, as the name on the façade recalls. Its main activity was the reproduction of drawings, architects' plans, estimates, specifications , etc. The Dorel brothers developed gelatin-based reproduction processes that made it possible to make photocopies ahead of their time. The company closed its doors in the 1970s.

Ok Gents — So now that you are here at the Paris Hotel & Casino — What Now? Surely the Coronavirus Recession has been difficult.
Most stage shows required to operate at 50% capacity, or less, aren’t ready to reopen. Most nightclubs aren’t ready to reopen and manage Social Distancing. Most restaurants required to operate at 50% capacity are going to be very busy during weekends and very slow, or closed, during the week days.
So how do you convince your very lovely lady back home to end her self-imposed Coronavirus Quarantine and jump on an airplane to be with you? Somehow you need to convince your very lovely lady that even with more people on the Strip, that it’s still possible to get a good table at the best restaurants — even on the weekends! 😷🤔
So let’s start by trying to bag a Strip-View patio table for dinner at Mon Ami Gabi!! 😏

Here is another image from my set of "Historic Cafes of Paris". The best way to see them all - including the ones that I already posted to Flickr last year - is to visit my Flickr album and see them as one show.
The Eiffel Tower, designed by Gustave Eiffel, was built as the symbol of the 1889 Paris World's Fair.
In spring 1999, my son, Brian, spent six weeks backpacking through Europe.
This is his photo of the tower.
Gents — How do you feel now that all the hotel thermal checkpoints have been removed, and that all the COVID-19 security guards have been moved away from the entrances? How do you feel now that all the bars are up and running? 🤔
And Yes — Even though it’s unworkable for a solo guest to purchase a single seat for a Vegas production stage show, it’s still a relief that stage shows are slowly making a comeback on the Vegas Strip! 😔
And Yes — It’s bothers you that it’s still unworkable for a man and a woman to dance together in a ballroom, or in a cocktail lounge, eventually one day it will be possible for men and women to go out dancing again. 😔
So Gents, do not allow yourselves to be mad or sad that the Governor’s state order to open bars and stage shows hasn’t gotten everything back to normal yet, in time, everything will get better. So continue your night explorations, and do so because even in the midst of the Coronavirus Global Pandemic and the Coronavirus Recession, Life Is Still Good Here!! 😷😉
Voila, the title says it all. Best Regards, Tjerk An image from the third collection of images in the series named "Paris Through my Lens". To see some other images in this series please follow this link; www.flickr.com/photos/tjerk/sets/72157648416961763/ Best regards, Tjerk

This building at the corner of Rue Antoine Bourdelle / Rue Armand Moissant in Montparnasse, Paris is the Advancia Business School and was designed by AS Architecture-Studio. Thanks to my contact Trish Mayo for supplying this information.

Gentlemen -- Do you remember the typical Vegas trips you and your very lovely lady took way back between 1997 and 2005? Of Course you do! Back then, the ARC Bar where you are sitting at right now, sipping frozen Strawberry Margaritas beneath the arches of the soaring Eiffel Tower, used to overlook the Grand Paris Water Fountains. The Paris Fountains were big, but not nearly as big as the Fountains of Lake Bellagio across the street. Back then, the Bellagio Resort & Casino was slightly older than the newly built Paris Hotel & Casino. Back then, the Paris had the second most romantic water fountains on the entire Strip! The Sugar Factory Kitchen & Patio Bar, now the HEXX Kitchen & Bar, hadn't been built yet. You and your very lovely lady were sad when they tore down the Paris water fountains. 😔
You and your very lovely lady would typically fly in on Wednesday, one day in advance of the big national ballroom dance competition. Dance couples from all over the country and from overseas would come to compete. You two would usually have a big dress up dinner either at the steakhouse at Bally's, or at the steakhouse at the Paris, or if the big dance competition was being held at the Luxor, y'all would have dinner at Tender Steak & Seafood. And then after that, you two would seldom make it further than your hotel room and the bathroom. Y'all would arrive at the ballroom around around 8am to begin your freestyle Open-Amateur and Open-Silver Pro-Am dance heats. You two would dance single heats all morning and afternoon, and then dance multi-dance Amateur and Pro-Am heats all night long until the championship heats ended late at night around midnight. Thursdays were reserved for the five American Rhythm dances (Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, and Mambo). Fridays were reserved for the four American Smooth dances (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, and Foxtrot). Saturday and Sunday were reserved for the International Ballroom, the International Latin, and the Country & Western freestyle and multi-dance dance heats and championships, and you two were expected to be in the ballroom all day long to support the dance team and your fellow dance couples competing those two days.
Too often you and your very lovely lady didn't make it out of the ballroom until around midnight. But when the day's contests were over, you two would come out here and sit and do what you are doing right now. 🤔
So tonight at nearly midnight of your last night in Vegas, you are busy doing what you and your woman used to do back then more than 20 years ago. You are trying desperately to stop time and recapture the magic you felt during the last five nights of your Fabulous Vegas Vacation. 😔
Gentlemen — It’s been a long and very busy Day One, so what have you learned?
You understand that it will be difficult for your very lovely lady to adjust to the new normal of contact-free travel. Initially your very lovely lady will be uncomfortable getting through the airport and with getting through hotel check-in and check-out using only her 🍎 iPad or SmartPhone. Your woman may not have much patience with having to use her 🍎 iPad or SmartPhone to read QR Codes to open restaurant and bar menus. Your woman won’t be used to using her 🍎 iPod or SmartPhone to work the hotel elevators and as a door key to the hotel room. Your very lovely lady is terrified of catching COVID-19 and therefore she will be terrified by the big crowds of people crowding football watch parties all up-and-down the Vegas Strip on NFL Sundays. 🤔
And now there are whispers among the crowd of maybe another Vegas shutdown! 😒
So do not let yourself be mad or sad that you’ve learned that things have not really returned to normal on the Vegas Strip. Head on back to your home base at the NY-NY, conclude Day One of your seven day fling, and get a good night’s sleep. You have much more exploring of the Fabulous Las Vegas Strip to do! And do so because in spite of the Coronavirus Global Pandemic and the on-going Coronavirus Recession — Life Is Still Good Here!! 😉😷
