So today Kathy (Holdlifestill Photography) and I set out bright and early for the old abandoned German School in Brantford. When we finally got there it was not as abandoned as we would have like; there were about a dozen cars and a huge bonfire where the contents of the school was being burned. Luckily, we had driven past an old farm (a couple times) in our search for the school so we headed back there.

The property had a big barn, silo, garage and shed along with 3 rusting cars. It was absolutely fantastic. Needless to say 21/2 hours went by very quickly and we barely noticed the cold. All in I shot almost 300 photos which will keep me busy for a little while.

It was so wonderful having my parents visit in such a troubling time, its been so long since I have seen them.

It was quite dark and raining hard when I found this young shieldbug running around on an old park bench, probably having been blown out of the overhead birch tree. These tiny creatures were happy to crawl onto my warm finger and be photographed but on the bench they kept moving.

Dollotea Fabian, a parent, brings her contribution of food, a sack of maize, to Idugumbi Primary School in Mbeya, Tanzania. Idugumbi Primary School benefitted from a school feeding program through a collaboration with the Kuyenda Collective youth. Kuyenda Collective is a youth collective working to improve rural youth’ right to education. In 2023, Joshua played a key role from the village he comes, Mtembela in Mbeya District in Tanzania, where he led a transformative journey for children in Idugumbi Primary School to get meals while in school. The parents and the community pull their resources together to aide the feeding program.
