I got to Roosevelt Islandby cable car (the Roosevelt Island Tramway, which travels parallel to the Queensboro Bridge) - and that is a short trip that I recommend.

A parallel universe is a hypothetical self-contained separate reality co-existing with one's own. A specific group of parallel universes is called a "multiverse", although this term can also be used to describe the possible parallel universes that constitute reality. While the terms "parallel universe" and "alternative reality" are generally synonymous and can be used interchangeably in most cases, there is sometimes an additional connotation implied with the term "alternative reality" that implies that the reality is a variant of our own. The term "parallel universe" is more general, without any connotations implying a relationship, or lack of relationship, with our own universe. A universe where the very laws of nature are different – for example, one in which there are no Laws of Motion – would in general count as a parallel universe but not an alternative reality and a concept between both fantasy world and earth.
The actual quantum-mechanical hypothesis of parallel universes is "universes that are separated from each other by a single quantum event."
As other Flickr friends have observed, the platforms at Boston South Station are as dismal as those of Birmingham New Street and offer limited opportunities for taking effective photographs of the Amtrak and MBTA Commuter services that use them. Purely for the personal record, I took this view of MBTA locos 1032 and 1070 at the heads of their respective trains, each scheduled to depart simultaneously at 12.05, 1032 on the Staughton Line and 1070 to New Bedford, my own destination. Both locos are EMD F40PH types, modernised since their earlier days.

The stunning facade of the walkie-talkie building at 20 Fenchurch Street, London, the parallel lines of its exterior towering off into the sky. I've got loads of images of this, it looked so impressive in the afternoon sun.
The path around Carr Mill at the North of the lake. It would have been nice to see an old wodden fence, but the effect still works to draw the eye to the background. (I hope it does)
ILSX 1339 has control of five cars for Saint Hilaire where it will also perform some routine switching in town. In the meantime, it's a leisurely 10 mph following Minnesota 32.
