You cannot be sure these days, who is who or who is what or is it true what you see. All because of the Halloween Spirit ;-))

I love the models designed by Gilgado, they have a high cartoon content, in addition to the fact that they are fun to fold.

Paper: 21x21cm handmade paper.

Final size: width 13cm , height 8cm.

Wishing you all a very happy Valentine's Day !!

I folded this origami model twice using the same red/gold wrapping paper, just did a color change.

Each heart is folded from a rectangle (1:2), 10x20cm.

Final size: 5cm (the heart) and 2,5cm height (the rose).

You can easily make a brooch from it, just by attaching a pin on a the back.

When I saw this funny model, I knew I just had to fold it. Origami is on my mind too :-)) I used a sheet of yellow kami paper 30x30cm. Final size: height 12,5cm, width 12cm.

""It was so nice to see and catch up with my creepy friends, but yeah, there always comes a time to fly home again. So take care, be safe and best wishes", says this little Witch, sitting on her broom, ready to take off.

She was very concentrated, at the moment I made this photo, to enlarge her magic hands, so she had enough power to control her broom. I was told, it is not easy to navigate a broom……;-))

I used a 35x35cm sheet of silver foil, which I painted red on the other side, because I wanted a red witch.

Final size: Height 10cm, length 10cm, width 5cm

An older origami Buddha design, more abstract, but…. folded from just one piece of paper! It is a very ingenious design, I like it a lot.

I had to wait for the perfect sunlight to make the photo and this morning that moment was there;-))

Model: origami 'Seated Buddha'

Design: Fred Rohm

Paper: one piece of gold foil, 24x24cm.

Final size: height 10cm, size of one side of the 'table' 6cm

This 'Star Cruller' is very much related to the 'Twinkle Cruller' (see first comment box), just a few creases are different.

On the left you see the 5 unit version and on the right a variation with 7 units. As mentioned before the more units assembled, the more the model looks like a star . I like a 7 pointed star ;-))

Have a nice Thursday

Paper:

Both stars are folded from a square piece of double side colored Freudenberg paper 11,5x11,5cm.

Final size:

- 5unit Star: diameter 12xm, height 2cm

- 7unit Star: diameter 14cm, height 0,5cm

A more closer look of "Pattern" (see first comment box). The texture reminds me of stone, so I did some processing to emphasize that.

The paper I used is 'glassine', which is great photogenic paper because of its translucency.

This is one of my favorites origami flowers, not only because of its delicate radiation, but also the folding process is very interesting. ;-)

Folded from two pieces of kami paper, one for the flower, one for the stem, both 15x15cm.

Final height also 15cm.

Although the name of this origami design is "Hedgehog", it reminds me more of a 'porcupine'. I like the abstract form, though and…...it has a nice folding sequence ;-))

I used a sheet of brown glassine(24x24cm) to fold it.

Final size about 10cm width, 9,5cm height. If you use different paper, you could shape it more and then it becomes more 3d, than it is now.

Folded from six sheets of shiny paper(15x15cm) with an irregular color pattern, which makes this polyhedron even more intriguing ;-).

You see it from different sides, in this triptych. I didn't fold it three times though, just made the photos smaller.

Final size: diameter about 16 cm

What I like about Kawasaki, besides his beautiful designs of course ;-), is the fact that he is an excellent teacher.

He divided his origami-book(s) into lessons, which increase in difficulty. You can skip it of course, but if you never have folded a model before, it is highly recommended that you do this anyway to get used to the way of diagramming and get some practice.

Often the end results are also very worthwhile, at least that's my opinion.

Like this result of the first part of Lesson 3: a beautiful abstract rose (that is the rose on the left. On the right is the same rose, but at the bottom a piece of the paper is already folded in. It becomes smaller and appears rounder.)

I put them both in a traditional container ('Masu box'), by way of abstract leaves. Nice as a table decoration!

I changed both 'Masu boxes' have a bit. The traditional one is just a container with 4 straight sides.

"""Good news!!! Santa is on his way!!!

It is a very long journey and although the reindeer have magical supersonic powers to fly in the air, it is still better from a welfare point of view to let the animals rest once in a while. Also for the Santa himself, he is not getting any younger either. So they all are enjoying now a little break on a cloud full with snow!

Please have a closer look at the sled too.

On the back you see a lantern, which works on solar energy and ensures visibility during night flights.

So if you see one or more blue moving dot(s) in the evening or at night next week,..... then you know what it is."""

This origami Fugu is looking forward for a lovely weekend with his friends and family ;-))

During the assembling proces of this origami modular "Ginger Torch" you can also see nice patterns inside (top photo left) and just before the closing (photo below left).

The finished version on the right.

This Kusudama is folded from 30 pieces (7,5x7,5cm) of double colored kami paper. Final diameter: about 14cm

A 12-piece version is also possible. I folded that too and you can see that Kusudama here, together with the 30 pieces version and just one module/element.

Of course I had to create a new critter for my origami collection. This is a little whale. Super easy to do and cute! I now have made a bear, a fox, a kitty (which I will post later), a boat, a sombrero, and a dress. I wonder what else I can make. :)

I highlighted the origami tessellation "Flower". It is a detail of my origami-tessellation "Mosaic".

If you are interested to see more, have a look at my tessellation album Origami - Tessellation Progression".

This is a paper flower which is about 5 cm.

As you can see, my photo is not origami, but as a Japanese, I am very happy many people choose Origami as an object for this week's theme♡

Another version with different paper of the 'Origami Box with a Rose' as this one. As the used paper itself was black and white, I choice to make the whole picture B&W.

For the lid, I simply revised the paper.

I always try several kind of paper (different in color as in textures, when folding for a model and then choose the one I like the most. But in this case I like this one too.

Macro Monday

Theme: Paper Art

Size: Less than 3x3 inches

The subject is a piece of tissue paper. I sprinkle some water drops on the paper and crunched it randomly to create these shapes.

With a bit of imagination it looks like hills and crumbling icebergs.

There are 2 sources of light , an overhead incandescent table lamp light and a LED torch under neath the tissue paper.

Many thanks for your visit, comments and faves...it is always

appreciated.
