This is my first ornament for the 2010 Bead Journal Project. The idea is to work intuitively with beads. I began with a diamond shape about 4" wide by 6" high. Because we were starting a new year I wanted to begin with a "clean slate" and use white and silver to execute my design. I rummaged through my stash of beads and charms until I found some that spoke to me. As it turns out, these literally spoke to me!
Glass beads, pewter charms, sequins stitched to a foundation of cotton fabric over cotton batting. That layer was mounted on a piece of Peltex backed with watercolor paper. Perle cotton is used to create a hanging loop.
