When we celebrated Mama's 50th birthday party we had gold balloons, since the 50s are golden. Balloons, particularly those of such a pretty color, make for great pictures.

Gostaria de dividir minha felicidade com vcs! Já faz mais de um ano que entrei pro mundo dos concursos online de estampas de camisetas. Agora começaram a surgir bons frutos

Picture is... unrelated.

I have a special little iTunes playlist for building:

“Aviva Pastoral” by Nathan Larson

[from the soundtrack to “Palindromes”]

Maybe you heard it in that awesome video with the melting chocolate bunnies.

“Moonlight Sonata” by Beethoven

Maybe you heard it in a movie somewhere, because it gets a lot of play.

“Everyday” by Carly Comando

Maybe you came across that YouTube video of the guy taking a picture of himself every day for six years. This song was the soundtrack.

“Genova” by Textile Ranch and Charles Atlas

Maybe you saw the teaser for “Up in the Air”; this song was used to great effect.

“Six Days” by DJ Shadow

Maybe you caught the music video directed by Wong Kar-Wai.

“Lower Your Eyelids to Die with the Sun” by M83

Maybe you saw that trippy slo-mo skate video, which gets officially awesome at 1:52, and only gets better from there.

“Song for Bob” by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis

[from the soundtrack to “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”]

Maybe you watched the damn movie, because that’s probably the only place you’d hear it. (link contains spoilers)

“Six Gnossiennes: I. Lent” by Erik Satie

Maybe you saw the documentary “Man on Wire,” or any other independent movie, because it’s an indie favorite.

“Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92: II. Allegretto” by Beethoven

Maybe you saw the trailer or, even better, the opening credits to an awe-inspiring movie called “The Fall”.

“Nature Boy” by Miles Davis

Maybe you have heard Nat King Cole’s version, or David Bowie’s in Moulin Rouge, or Frank Sinatra’s, because it’s just one of those well-used songs.

"The Truth About Ruth” by Alexandre Desplat

[from the soundtrack to “The Ghost Writer”]

Maybe you heard it when you saw the movie, and if you haven’t, you should, because it’s awesome.

“Rabbia e Tarantella” by Ennio Morricone

Maybe you saw “Inglourious Basterds,” which I maintain was a Western, not a war movie, and borrowed heavily from the Morricone portfolio.

Just as colourful as the Stagecoach and following right behind was Mainline 767... another palindrome fleet number! All three PSs looked cracking and I bet it was great fun to ride in the middle of the convoy on this, with one PS in front and another following behind.

New to Mainline in 1996, this passed to First with the rest of the Mainline operation, which later became First South Yorkshire. Less fortunate than the Stagecoach PS when it came to national fleet numbers, 767 ended up with 60604, which bears no relation to its original number. It lasted until the end of B10 operation at FSY in 2010. 'OG' below the fleet number is for Sheffield Olive Grove garage.

I've actually seen this bus once before at Showbus 2018, although here it differs slightly by having the 30th Anniversary logo on the front. Obviously it fits the look being the Mainline font and all, but is the 30th Anniversary logo based off a real one Mainline used (5th Anniversary? It was First by the time ten years had passed) or created completely from scratch? I like it, either way.

Sator Square (word puzzle): The Sator Square is a word square containing a Latin palindrome featuring the words: SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS written in a square so that they may be read top-to-bottom, bottom-to-top, left-to-right, and right-to-left. The earliest known appearance of the square was found in the ruins of Pompeii which was buried in the ash of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Sator- 'Sower', 'planter'- Arepo Likely an invented proper name; its similarity with arrepo, from ad repo, 'I creep ', - Tenet 'he holds'- Opera 'works','efforts'- Rotas 'wheels'

Two possible translations of the phrase are 'The sower Arepo holds the wheels with effort' and 'The sower Arepo leads with his hand (work) the plough (wheels).

'The Great Sower holds in his hand all works; all works the Great Sower holds in his hand.'

Basic concept...The amount of work you put into something is what you get out of it...so you benefit or reap the reward of any hard earned work.

The square was used in folk magic for putting out fires, removing jinxes, to protect from witchcraft and against fatigue when traveling.

Palindromes were viewed as being immune to tampering by the devil, who would become confused by the repetition of the letters, and hence their popularity in magical use.
