This is one of my 2 minute sketches, and watercolor. Kind of a "thing" with me- just before bed, when I go downstairs to put our parrots to bed, I sit down and do a couple of quick drawings, then add color the next day! A fun habit!
Bufflehead pair.
I have been trying photograph a pair of buffleheads close enough for my 400 mm in good light to bring out the beautiful color on the male's head. So I was very pleased to come across this pair at Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware.

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... Thanks to you all.
A pair of Razorbills displaying some touching of bills which is a courtship behavior. It is said that a mating pair will court several times during breeding periods to strengthen their bond between the two. Once a female chooses a male, the two will stay together for life. It was really heart warming witnessing this behavior first hand. The subsequent action that followed after the touch of the bills was the Razorbill on the right did some preening of the one on the left. Photo from Machias Seal Island.
