with copper nails, the burned remnents of a photo of a friend and a thick coat of resin, my intention was to capture the complexities of the male relationship: at once deeply protected and fragile.
The man using this showed me some of the cleaners and tools in all these pockets. He certainly looks prepared for any difficulties. Of course, when there are concerts this cleaning kit is hidden away in the janitor's closet. Here it's parked for the moment in the lobby outside of the Opperman Music Hall in the Kuersteiner building, part of the FSU College of Music.
This, admittedly is a "grab shot", and the shot was slightly out of focus, but I loved the expression on this lady's face, so I handled the shot in a painterly fashion, which eliminated suggestions of being out of focus.
11th annual Chalk Walk hosted by the Museum of Art. The Chalk Walk is based on an Italian tradition of street painting that dates to the 16th century, known as i madonnari (street painters).
