"Painterly Pelican" by Patti Deters. A Great White Pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) soars gracefully through a swirling sky, its wings fully extended. The background features an arrangement of soft blues and browns, evoking a sense of movement and tranquility. Several textures have been created and blended for a cheery and fun fantasy-like background. Thank you for viewing this image. COLONIA-VILAFRUNS-BALSARENY-PINTURA-ANTIGUES-COLONIES-TEXTIL-LLOBREGAT-HISTORIA-PINTURES-PAISATGES-CATALUNYA-PINTOR-ERNEST DESCALS-
This was our first evening in France...out to dinner in this area. The lights and activity were wonderful. With the new Topaz Impressions plug in, the effects just seemed so appropos for these scenes. The original image was tack sharp, shot at 2500 ISO, handheld...it is a nice image but the painterly feel just keeps speaking to me :)
Just an FYI for those on Macs that have wanted to use the Mac incompatible Fractilius plug in ...this programme can create some of that look.
Iliupersis Painter, active Apulia, South Italian Red-Figure Hydria (water vessel), 370-350 BCE
Burnished terracotta with slip decoration
Hydriai are three handled vessels designed to carry water. The handles at the sides were used for transportation, while the handle at the reverse is intended for pouring. The central design of this vessel features two women flanking a kalathos, or wool basket, placed on top of a chest. These two objects are likely indicative of a women-religious cult.

Before her work
She looked around every where
She saw the pictures and she painted them
She picked the colors from the air

Somewhereville's famous selfie painter, Eliot Quinn is the master of self expression. He says "The cool thing about being a selfie painter is you can represent yourself as anything you want from doctor, to super hero, to clown." Wish I could paint a lick. Meanwhile I'll just use my phone.
Image imagined in MidJourney AI and finished with Topaz Studio and Lightroom Classic.

My photo of Bleeding Heart, rendered in a lovely soft pastel [my favorite medium] by Google's Deep Dream Generator.
. . whimsy.
Just foolin' around with a still life painting, but the light reflection against it required an hdr - even though I couldn't remove all of the glare / reflection. 7exp., taken in Caravelle Hotel, processed in CS3 and Capture NX.
Enjoy what's left of your weekend.
Lago di Braies has to be one of the most photographed spots in Europe. Despite how calm it looks, behind me the lake shoreline was full of photographers, newly weds, instagrammers, you name it they were there! But, can you blame them? We arrived before sunrise after camping not so far away. It was so cold that icicles had formed inside our tent. Whilst I jostled for a position along the shoreline, Steph amused herself by photographing the absurdity of the morning crowd. It was a still morning, the reflections were perfectly glassy, the trees had a touch of autumnal colour and the location was, well - you can see for yourself. Stunning! No sooner had the sun risen the crowds dispersed, which doesn't do justice to the Lake. We stayed on, savouring the morning by doing the short hike around the lake before capping off a great morning with a breakfast cookout.
While I tried to watch the sunset as often as possible, this was a special time for reflection. It would have been Dad's 99th birthday.

Thursday morning, when the homecare person came in, I drove the Benz to Royal Roads then on to Royal Bay.
The weather was a damp, Scottish-mist and the 22km distance on the bike gets boring after a few trips.
After checking out the Westshore Rowing and Paddling Centre and Blue Heron House it was up Serpentine Rd. and on to Royal Bay.
Painter Road Trailhead is still there so that's where the limo was parked while checking out the surroundings.
N.B. Royal Bay has a labyrinth of trails covering its large area but few take time to explore them.
