The first time I have seen this new sport of Stand up Paddle Boarding with a hydrofoil.

Whilst sitting in the heat at The Beaches in Toronto looking at the dense fog covering Lake Ontario we saw these figures appear through the mist on their paddleboards. It was quite funny and made us think of some bizarre horror movie.
Yes, you can even check Facebook out in the middle of Stony Creek Lake while paddle boarding. They were actually quite far out in the lake at Stony Creek Metropark in Washington Township, Michigan.

Porteau Cove Provincial Park is a 56-hectare oceanfront haven for scuba divers, kayakers, stand-up paddleboarders, beachcombers and those just looking for a place to relax by the shore. It's a little bit of oceanfront paradise just a short drive from downtown Squamish.
By day, the park offers plenty of exploring through its driftwood beaches, tidal and intertidal marine life, sunken ships, artificial reefs, picnic areas and pebble beaches. Climb the stairs on the viewing deck and try to spot seals roaming the waters below or walk down to the sandy beach to go for a swim.
Paddlers can enjoy endless views staring out at Anvil Island. The park is also home to a sunken marine park which is a popular spot for scuba divers to explore.
By night, the area is cloaked under some of the darkest skies in the Sea to Sky Corridor with endless stargazing potential.
Reserve one of the cozy Olympic Cabins or book into one of the 44 drive-in and 16 walk-in campsites. Porteau Cove Campground is open year-round with reduced fees in the winter.

Lots going on here - the yacht preparing to sail, and the owner's dog paddling in the mud, there is a person with an inflatable dinghy and also 2 paddleboarders out in the Ray, a family with buckets and spades seeing what they can dig up . . . cargo boat in the background
The Cedar Creek Fire began August 1, 2022 when a lightning storm caused 20 to 30 new fires on the Willamette National Forest. It was located 15 miles east of Oakridge, Oregon. It burned over 127,000 acres.

On our tour of the Oregon Coast, we enjoyed nine wonderful sunsets, three of them with surfers at play. At Sunset Bay State Park near Coos Bay we caught a couple of stand up paddleboarders enjoying the sunset and the calm waters of the bay.
I just finished leading a 10-day photography program along the Oregon Coast for Road Scholar. I had a great group of folks from all over North America who cheerfully endured long days of travel.
We started the trip in Astoria and worked the netire length of the Oregon Coast. We shot every sunrise and sunset, every lighthouse, many beaches, boats, birds, wildflowers, and the occasional tourist. We essentially lived and breathed photography for 10 days. I couldn't ask for a better bunch of folks to see the coast with.
