From my Spring 2009 Package Design 1 course at Art Center College of Design. The brief was simple: redesign a compact florescent lightbulb package. Here's the description of my concept, taken from my final presentation:
The compact florescent light bulb (CFL) is a recent innovation that combines radically reduced electricity usage with a significantly longer bulb life span. While the bulbs themselves are appealing to the environmentally conscious, the packaging for the bulbs has been less than environmentally friendly. Until now.
Made from 100% recycled White-Line newsback and printed with soy inks, this packaging compliments the eco-friendly contents. The box includes information on proper disposal for CFLs and a postage-paid mail return sticker, enabling the consumer re-use the original packaging when returning the bulb to GE for proper disposal.
Finally, extensive research has shown that if a customer can be persuaded to take a GE product off the shelf, there is a 70% chance they will purchase it. This innovative and refreshing package design will ensure that the GE CFLs will stand out, making this a good choice for the environment, as well as GE’s bottom line.

Tarpanam is a brand umbrella of various FMCG products and one of their product ranges are incense sticks, popularly known as Agarbatti in India.
We presented a different identity to their agarbatti packing boxes and still kept it uniform for a recall value. On the product box design, we placed a traditional female illustration holding incense sticks and lamp for religious ritual.

What a splendidly simple design for a tin. This is a large size and still full tin of Ronuk wax polish that dates probably fromt he late '50s or early 1960s given the warrent is for the late KIng George VI. As the address notes the company was based at Portslade in Sussex.
The company was formed by T Horace Fowler in Brighton who apparently formulated a polish and, in 1896, registered the tradename Ronuk. By 1902 they had moved to a new works in adjacent Portslade and the company prospered manufacturing a range of polishes and allied products. They were acquired by Izal Ltd., a rival manufacturer of household products, in 1960 and the owners, the Newton Chambers group of Sheffield, moved production north. Interestingly one product introduced in post-war years, Ronseal, is the one that still carries the name on as it remains a major wood and decorative finishes brand name.
Caramels. Awesome packaging. The animals tops and bottoms can be swapped and new creatures invented, as it says on the inside Rabbit (Usagi) and Giraffe (Kirin) makes a 'Urin'. Urin's apparently like 'apple juice'. The other boxes are dice.

Moschopolis is the first wine series of the homonym Moscopolis Winery. The brand is based on the premium wine quality matured in barrels, scientific approach of the owners' aged experience and thorough methodology of each production step -from the born of the grape- to the bottling.
Instead of introducing a representational metaphor in the label, we created a wine-self-reference one, a label that carries only wines' internal and essential information. This was achieved by collecting, structuring and organising the most important elements. By introducing a clear typographic system on the label, extroversion has been achieved, which arrives from the decision to include all information available directly to the viewer. The label introduces the wine and the winery, as if the owner is present by himself - without being.
Secondly, methodology was accomplished visually through this system, in a way that verifies the brands' own practice. Thirdly, education, as a way of communicating all the essential elements of this product to the also non familiar to barrel wines audience. Last but not least, considering the marketplace abroad, there is a clear reference to the origin (product of Greece) by including international words routed in greek language, such as Genesis, Aura, Methodology etc.
Part of this orthological approach was to name each label with a number, so as to keep a consistency that is related and actually verified with the nature of the brand’s practices.
All of the above was carefully crafted and printed in two colours with a hot bronze foil working as a stamp of the aged barrel.
