1. I've never eaten a McDonald's hamburger. Or Burger King, Wendy's or any other of the sort. A single White Castle burger at the tender age of 3 made me hate burgers.
2. I've held over 20 jobs that have included everything from cashier to model to reception and transcription for a law firm.
3. I've been dying my hair for over 16 years, but I was born with red hair that turned blond-ish.
4. I've been in a techno-industrial-dance cover band (called Atomic). LOADS of fun.
5. I'm 5'4", and at one time, I weighed over 180 lbs.

7. I was terrified of zombies. It was a fear that was bordering on psychosis. And it was all due to George Romero's 'Dawn of the Dead'. Edgar Wright's 'Shawn of the Dead' cured me. Now, a zombie lover, I've been to Monroeville, Pennsylvania to the mall where they filmed the movie.

Ecco che. come un riflesso condizionato, l'occhio si mette a cercare dei punti di riferimento... qualche costellazione a cui dare un nome, per capire dove ci si trova.

The trombone seem to go forever and Charlotte is using every bit of it to make a wonderful music. I first seen her at 17 and now, at a ripe old age of 21, she leads her own band (or 2) and plays almost everyday of the week in one of the local clubs after a summer of playing in the parks and streets of Toronto.

The winter of 2013-2014 is one to remember, as not a single iceday is recorded, until today. Only one week with frosty nights and that's all for the cold this winter. But, because of these high temperatures, the nature is very green and on a sunny day like today all colours come together nicely.
This is windmill Bonrepas, on just 1 kilometer from my own house. Such a nice place really close to home is wonderful, and many photos on my photostream are from this mill. Today I walked through a grassland to the other side of the river Vlist. Normally I'm standing on the road across the water. But the Vlist in front of the mill worked out well this time I think.

My dad owned an auto repair business in San Francisco. His name wasn't Bob, but other than that he spent over 50 years working the wrench. Growing up, I spent a lot of time there. It was full of gritty grease, noxious fumes, and the deadening sounds of metal banging on metal. So, when I saw this humble living abode perched above Bob's Auto Service, I couldn't help but wonder what it must me like to live there--probably not relaxing--unless it's occupied by Bob. It might make a decent place for a heavy metal band to live and practice.

The bears come down to the shore on the edge of Cook's Inlet to find dead fish washed up on the shore to eat. They are followed around by seagulls trying to snatch bits of fish for their own meal. These are fairly large birds when you compare their size to the big bear in the image.

If you don't recognize her, that's my Ruffy. I created this for the Smile on Saturday group, selfie with half a face theme. I know it's not Saturday.. Maybe you'll smile before Saturday. ;-)
I'm still trying to get Ruffy's blood sugar #'s under control. Today I'm testing her blood every 2 hours, doing her 2nd blood glucose curve. Have been giving her insulin shots 2x daily, but for the 1st time, today her sugar # was low! It's usually really high! So no insulin today. Scary stuff!! Have to keep calling the vet & they tell me what to do. OK.. back to create your own happiness...

Australian National 'World' Alco 955 trundles into the yard at Port Flat (Port Adelaide) with an early morning transfer move of loaded grain hoppers from the Dry Creek yards on 14 December 1991. By the time this image was taken, the active members of the '930 class' was down to single digits and 955 only had another six months in service.
Between 1955-1967, 37 Alco DL500B units had been built in Australia by AE Goodwin, under licence, for the state government owned South Australian Railways. Ownership was transferred to the federally owned Australian National in 1978.

Lorient Submarine Base was a submarine naval base located in Lorient, France.
It was built in 1941 by the German Kriegsmarine, and was continued to be enlarged until 1943.
The base was capable of sheltering thirty submarines under cover.
Although the city of Lorient was heavily damaged by Allied bombing raids, this naval base survived through to the end of the war.
Following the Normandy landings in June 1944, and subsequent breakout, Lorient was surrounded by the Allies on 12 August 1944.
The remaining U-boats were evacuated, the last, U-853, escaping for Norway on 27 August.
Lorient was held until May 1945 by the regular German army forces, though surrounded by the American Army; the Germans refused to surrender.
After the German defeat it was used by the French Navy. It was decommissioned in 1995 and converted to civilian use.
The base was in use until 1997, serving up to 10 submarines, and 2000 personnel.
After 1997 the site became available for civilian use, with the conversion of the pens into industrial units.
It is also the site of the Keroman submarine museum, which is open to the public. (Source: Wikipedia)

Fue construido en 1941 por la Kriegsmarine alemana y continuó ampliándose hasta 1943.
La base era capaz de albergar a treinta submarinos a cubierto.
Aunque la ciudad de Lorient sufrió graves daños por los bombardeos aliados, esta base naval sobrevivió hasta el final de la guerra.
