#Raphadramatic snaps from the Leicester Forest Cycling Club's annual road race in September 2014.

Please don't pinch my pictures. If you'd like to use them, then let me know. I probably won't charge, but it's nice to be nice, right?

My main Flickr stream, that has less pictures of men in lycra, is here: www.flickr.com/photos/placid_casual/

Overprocessed for effect. Do you like it?

Probably the wrong time of day to be shooting. Gorgeous weather though.

Sheets in a blue place

Both hands bound behind her back

It's a mystery

1. A sheet (or drapery) - (Sheet Strip!)

2. A location where we don't expect to find a sheet (or drapery) - (As a binding agent)

3. A Gothic mood (I tried)

Sometimes it's fun working with a model!

This one has that "postcard" aspect that I tend to avoid, but these landscapes are so amazing that I didn't want to overprocess it.

This is waaaayyyy overprocessed....I don't like it but....here it is until I can re-do

The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone is a beautiful image by itself. Normally I try to do as little processing on my images as possible, however, for this shot I let myself get carried away.

FUDGE CAKE

3 cups dry walnuts

2/3 cup unsweetened cacao powder or carob powder

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1 cup pitted Medjool dates

FROSTING

1?3 cup semi-soft pitted Medjool dates

1/4 cup agave syrup

1/2 cup ripe avocado flesh (from about 1 medium avocado)

1/3 cup cacao powder

FILLING

1/2 cup raspberries

To make the cake, combine the walnuts, cacao powder, and salt in the food processor and pulse until coarsely mixed. Avoid overprocessing. Add the dates and pulse until mixed well. Shape into 2 stackable cakes of desired shape and set aside.

To make the frosting, combine the dates and agave syrup in the food processor and process until smooth. Add the avocado and process until smooth. Add the cacao powder and process until smooth.

To serve, frost the top of one of the cakes with half the frosting and top with the raspberries. Stack the second cake on top and frost the top and side. Serve immediately, or place in the refrigerator for a couple hours to firm up.

The cake on its own will keep in the fridge for many weeks. The frosting will keep separately in the fridge for 1 week. The assembled cake with raspberries will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Taken on a foggy day, late in the afternoon. Overprocessed, but deliberately so to get a sort of almost ghost story type feel to it.

it's been sunny here for i can't even remember how long, which has made for a glorious spring. but it also means i have to water the garden at least every other day. so i slipped outside to do that while tex fed a whiny m her dinner. and soon my sister and her family are coming over to babysit so we can have a much needed date night where we shall drink fancy drinks and eat delicious food. happy friday!

What's up Homewood? Yo, where are all your people at?

Dog, I'm up in your buildings taking sub par pictures, forcing me to compensate by overprocessing and writing kitschy blurbs, but where are all the people? And what's up with your BBQ joint and your bank-y building?

What's the deal Homewood?

I've been catching a lot of flack lately for all of my "overprocessed" HDR shots, so here is a standard out of the camera version. To me it looks kind of "blah" but who knows, maybe someone will like it! :-) Shot this one with the Ol' D50 box and Sigma 10-20mm.

My friends sister jenna. Senior picture. Flickr messed the colors bigtime, it's now much colder. But it's still good.

Today’s Daily Shoot assignment is:

Make a photograph that incorporates a circle.

Get out there, take a photograph, upload it, and tweet a link to @dailyshoot with the hashtag: #ds490

A circle you say? Cool! Another excuse for more star trails! After all, they're kind of circular! Tried to get a really long trail, but those darn clouds got in the way. Made from 28 x 30 second exposures whipped and beaten into submission using a combination of Lightroom and GIMP.

Overpass of Benore Rd. over I-75 looking back toward Toledo right by Point Place.

Yes, I realize it is over processed, but I was having fun playing with Photoshop textures etc. and it seemed like an OK thing to do at the time... I also figured if you averaged this with the last post which is sooc you'd get a perfectly median amount of processing.

Oh, yeah, and the horizon is crooked. thbbbblt.

A house and scene already seen here, but with a 'twist' - after some 'twisted' processing to get to an 'artistic' (?) (d)effect...

A little series of Dogwood blooms. The flowers are the yellowy greeny bits in the centre. The white "petals" are actually bracts. I love dogwood. Our Darling Daughter "saved " them for us so we could see them on our recent trip to visit her. The Redbuds were still pretty too but too high up for me to photograph easily! These are perhaps a BIT overprocessed but I was doing them so I could try to paint some and wanted to really see details. Anyway, enjoy a touch of the southland! We had a BALL with our babes but a WRETCHED drive home in a blizzard ALL the way home- 1280 km - one way! We were on the road 18 hours yesterday. Today...!!!!!

The negs are a bit overprocessed, dev should have been max 8:00 at 20°C, a mistake as I stood there. I re-calculated the time, but forgot to apply it in practice.

Clearly, this is overprocessed with the dehaze option on Lightroom. It's cartoonish, but still kinda fun!

Overprocessed, over-sharpened, over-noiseninjaed, over everythinged.

And then there were two three.

One of three burrowing owls that made it back to Berkeley's César Chávez Park this year. Previous years saw 6, 5, and 4. A decade ago there were 15. At Berkeley they're under threat from dogs and raptors. Their nesting habitat 1000 miles north that may also be part of the problem. Burrowing owls are found throughout open landscapes across North and South America. They rely on prairie dogs and other large rodents to provide them a head start on burrow development. Several island forms are now extinct. They are threatened in the western US, Florida, and Canada. They are a state endangered species in Colorado. However, in the tropics they have expanded their range considerably with deforestation and seem to do well in parks and cattle pasture.

At the park they enlarge and occupy the burrows of the California ground squirrel. They don't prey on the adult squirrels -- choosing instead to focus on mice, lizards, grasshoppers and crickets. This small group is migratory and nests at an unknown location to the north. Elsewhere in the bay area there are nesting non-migratory groups. Less than 100 total pairs are now known in the bay area.

I was inspired to find these guys by Michael Layefsky

Ohhhh another lazy shot from me. I'll be on top form soon though... just a bit down actually because I'm leaving Saturday to go back to California. I am not looking forward to missing Steve...however, I will say I'm looking forward to seeing my family and friends again of course ;) Gotta stay positive right?

Today we did more shopping, and then went to Greenwich again for a nice meal. We were both exhausted today, so came home and took a nap.... I don't think I've recovered from the nap. We stayed in tonight, and I began a little packing...

Tomorrow will be my last day here for awhile, so we'll be out and about... which is why I'm packing early... which is why I feel down, which is why this picture is lame. However, I guess it describes my mood/feelings to some extent. So happy 365 I guess ;-/

A gorgeous antique wrought iron fence that rusts in front of a stately neo-classical nineteenth century house (with shutters on the front door. I love that idea....)

Usually I don't go for overprocessed photographs, but this time I decided it would pull the detail up into the picture.

Ran across a car show today after taking some photos in the woods. They were sweeet.

PLEASE VIEW THE ENTIRE SERIES

(This is a replacement and re-work of a previously posted image which I've deleted. Several commenters noted that it was overprocessed and I agree. I think this one will be more acceptable).

So I know it is WAY OVERPROCESSED. But as soon as I clicked on the preset I started to like what I saw, so I ran with it.

Overprocessed but hey, doesn't the sky look a lovely colour ; )

[Shot in RAW and tweaked with Capture NX and Gimp.]

Visited my old house mate today. Felt nostalgic being in my old house, room, neighborhood, local pub... I miss it. Went into town that night for dinner at a tapas bar I've been wanting Steve to go to. OoOo it was so nice! Although this garlic sauce I had was like coming out of my pores the rest of the night! lol. It was so strong, but so good.

It was like -1C last night too, omg. Absolutely freezing. It's been artic temperatures here! Frost on the ground well throughout the day. However, still managed to take a few snaps... no tripod, hence the lack of focus, blurriness... and well, I guess I'm just in the mood to over process ;)

Also.. there was a light on over a doorway, just opposite where this was taken, hence the highlight on the right pillar... want to maybe go back and cover it up to reshoot this, but not sure since it's private property hehe ;D

Day .26.

oh, and p.s.... I was trying to model the bag? lol It was a Christmas present from Steve's mum, and I absolutely love it!
