My first self-portrait, named Outer Mask plunges into the themes of hiding. The character (myself) is a sad and depressed individual who holds up a mask to the public to look happy and content. I used mobile phones to do this to symbolise the influence of social media on our lives and how easy it is to hide your true feelings and personality.
The person is in black and white to symbolise dullness, while the ‘mask’ is in colour to show his pretend liveliness and bubbliness. The words in the background are words that his acquaintances would describe him; how the mask portrays him to be.
The indoor pool looked better in the photos on the web than in real life. It clearly had seen better years and despite being billed as "heated," it was cool.
Outer Space

DEEEY ( platform toy from Malaysia )
Color : Mono Acrylic by Sakura
An imaginary outer space village to be
inhabited by humans seeking refuge from the polluted Earth. They
include the effects of totalitarianism, surveillance, quarantine and isolation, and environmental issues of pollution. The work satirically draws
attention to the waste generated everyday by the seemingly ... benign act of consuming a beverage. Lights will
illuminate the sea of cans, which may be accompanied by video commenting on
conspicuous consumption.
