Produced using a Microkorg with a single triangle wave, using an LFO of varying frequences to manipulate the filter cutoff. By doing a long exposure and moving the camera at various speeds, I was able to get copies of the changing waveform from the oscillator in the image at different locations.
The insides of a pair of cheap wireless transmitters. The whole thing is roughly three inches by four. All that stuff is packed in there pretty tightly by 1980's standards

Experiment 11 is interesting in that it starts by replicating the oscillator experiment we did earlier, but using a transistor instead of a relay. This time we use a different kind of transistor, called a 'programmable unijunction transistor' or PUT. This model is the 2N6027.
Where the NPN transistor in experiment 10 functioned as a 'valve', with the 'lever' being voltage applied to the base, here the PUT is a threshold device. We apply a threshold voltage to the 'gate'. Then, voltage which sits on the 'anode' will not pass, unless it exceeds the gate voltage. Once that happens it will flow out of the cathode.
Last night in Lisboa, I got together with my friend, Klaus who came down from Barcelos. We went to eat at a restaurant in BICA which Gloria took me earlier... and bumped into Manuel & Alfonso with German musican friend (whose name I failed to remember...) who also came down from Barcelos! We all went around the corner to Adriana's to hang out. John was showing off his new oscillators:)
Need one more oscillator and the Synthutron module, which is a custom build, then the top cabinet will be completed.
