This was supposed to be a funky voice oscillator thing... they turned it into a pendulum with a laser and a string ... something about humans' obsession with light or something.

A few documentation shots of the multi oscillator, light reactive synths I've been building for various performances as part of Sanctuary 2015. They use the amazingly hardy perennial favourite IC, the 40106 CMSOS Schmitt trigger.

 

There are also a couple of not synths, but percussive instruments made from jars, piezo electric contact mics and m3 nuts and a silver dollar respectively,

This is a picture of a nice EMS Escape Lightbar on a FairLea Ambulance. The Lightbar had rotators ( or oscillators ) and strobes ( or LED's, I wasn't sure ).

Ok, it's a barcode reader, not a phone. Two heterodyning oscillators controlled by light sensors with low frequency LED strobe. Trigger actuated audio mayhem.

This is 1 Hertz clock generator circuit using 32.768Khz crystal, CD4060 and CD4013 ICs. Our circuit base on crystal oscillator. So we can get very accurate and stable output. That can use for clock, timers and many projects.

On the back - the Bloom pot patch pads (all these pads are ferrous metal with threaded shafts to which I secure wires to the circuit, or other added controls, like the pot).

Added capacitors, power LED, oscillator, reset switches and IC sockets.

The ticking is created by the escapement, which assumes a key job in the development's estimation of time. "Tick": a tooth of the departure wheel locks against one of the beds of the switch. At that point, discharged by the breadth of the oscillator, the bed fork gives the wheel "a chance to escape", until it locks against the second bed: "tock".

La idea principal es producir sonidos randomizados con parámetros alterables por los espectadores. De esa forma parte del control se desvanece, forzando aún más el resultado.

 

Bayo nos lleva así a un mundo en el que el espectador podrá tocar música al manipular los objetos que el artista irá creando en el espacio expositivo. Este será un laboratorio abierto al púbico y se alentará a los visitantes a formar parte del proyecto mediante la interacción con los objetos creados, la creación de los suyos propios, o de la participación en las actividades y eventos relacionados.

The Crankotron Optical Pianola is a large electronic instrument built for a performance by the Dirty Electronics Ensemble at DeMontfort University, Leicester.

It consists of 4 independently tuned oscillators and 4 light sensors. The score is cut onto a 9m long roll of paper which is manually wound across the playhead (light sensors) by 2 operators. There are 2 stop points, at the first the oscillators are retuned, at the second a hole is manually cut and the reel continues.

1. Product Overview :

 

XT1511 side is a smart LED control circuit and light emitting circuit in one controlled LED source, which has the shape of a 4020 LED chip. Each lighting element is a pixel, and the intensities of the pixels are contained within the intelligent digital interface input. The output is driven by patented PWM technology, which effectively guarantees high consistency of the color of the pixels. The control circuit consists of a signal shaping amplification circuit, a built-in constant current circuit, and a high precision RC oscillator.

 

The data protocol being used is uni-polar NRZ communication mode. The 24-bit data is transmitted from the controller to DIN of the first element, and if it is accepted it is extracted pixel to pixel. After an internal data latch, the remaining data is passed through the internal amplification circuit and sent out on the DO port to the remaining pixels. The pixel is reset after the end of DIN. Using automatic shaping forwarding technology makes the number of cascaded pixels without signal transmission only limited by signal transmission speed.

The LED has a low driving voltage (which allows for environmental protection and energy saving), high brightness, scattering angle, good consistency, low power, and long life. The control circuit is integrated in the LED above.
