Heater is only 50W - not sufficient. It require 30W per cubic inch. Whole heater is 50W, and cover about 5 cubic inches - heating area.

Quad op-amp wired sequentially as oscillator (frequency set by VR17), square-wave generator (with breakout testpoint), triangle-wave generator (with breakout testpoint) and comparator with voltage reference, making a voltage-to-PWM converter. The voltage reference pot doesn't need high-value resistors on either side, but this (and the similar bias for U1C) is the largest power draw in the whole circuit so having them reduces the power it uses. I added a connector between the Vref pot and the comparator so you can use an external input to set your duty cycle. This is intended for the current-limiter above: using a cheap opamp as a comparator is a bad idea for most applications because it has slow slew and would leave a FET in its active region for far, far too long and allow it to overheat.
V- is 0 volts, V+ is 5-15 volts.

The 3rd LSW Blue Thunder. Aside form the standard mod's, this one has a mod (couple resistor changes and added diodes) which is known as the IR3109 Squelch mod. It tames the input to the oscillator causing the resonance to squelch more. The diodes help keep it under control. Gives it that nice classic Roland sound without the $50 chip inside.

on loan from a friend.. Nice synth, simple 2osc but has filter env mod etc so it should provide all the basic sounds you could think of.
I've got plenty of other hardware synths, but they're VA's so this was my first encounter with an classic analog one. I gotta say i could never go back to days without patch memories!
ThingaMa-Buzz. There are two low frequency oscillators per light with a smoothness control (slew rate) per channel. one of the oscilators can be assigned to either channel.
The Network Shield provides a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet PHY to allow connection to an Ethernet network. It provides the connectors and load switch to support use of the USB 2.0 OTG controller to implement USB device, USB host or OTG operation. It also provides two CAN transceivers and connectors to allow connection to two independent CAN networks. Connectors are provided to allow connection to two of the I2C busses supported by the Max32.
In addition to the communications features, the Network Shield also adds a 256Kbit I2C EEPROM for non-volatile data storage and a 32.768Khz oscillator to allow use of the Real Time Clock/Calendar (RTCC) peripheral in the PIC32 microcontroller.

This is the schematic of an analog synthesizer board. The Voltage Control Oscillator, Voltage Controlled Frequencies, Slew Limiter, Inverter, Low Frequency Oscillator Voltage Controlled Amplitude, and ADSR (attack decay sustain release) are all there. (thats the white boxes).
The beauty of analog synths are their adjustability and purity. You have complete control over the waveform from input to output, rather than cheating by selecting some god-forsaken preset that "sounds" like a violin, or a preset that mimics some other noise. And really, the noises you hear are 'pure' (not digitally sampled). The battle between digital and analog has leaned in favor of digital, sadly. I took some liberties in not labeling the units for aesthetic purposes. The sounds generated from this board are distant and strange, and I felt a background like this best reflected the nature of the sounds.
