The renovated theatre is poised to become the cornerstone of a thriving arts and entertainment district in the heart of downtown Elkhart."
The Miracle Theatre opened on December 7, 1948, with Glenn Ford in “The Return of October”. It was a neighborhood movie house with 1,600 seats, which were located on the main floor and a separate raised section at the rear. Its sumptuous Streamline Moderne lobby, foyer, and marquee welcomed visitors to the movies for decades. On June 23, 1978, it was twinned and renamed Miracle Twin Theatre. It became the Miracle 4 Theatres on November 23, 1983.
The City of Coral Gables purchased the historic movie house and, in 1990, the Miracle Theater began a $6.5 million dollar renovation to become the home of the Actor’s Playhouse.
It closed as a full-time cinema on April 12, 1995. The Miracle Theater became a performing arts center and returned the theater to its original Art Moderne opulence. Workers stripped off fiberglass wall coverings to reveal green-and-white Deco floral patterns, 1947 designs that had been hidden for years.
The lobby was returned to its original elegance with refurbished hardwood counters and wall paneling, restored Art Deco lighting fixtures and signage, and a period-inspired carpet.
Restoration of the beautiful 600-seat Mainstage auditorium was completed in 1995. Mainstage has a proscenium opening 45' wide by 22' height.
In 1988, a portion of the large former balcony became the 300 seat Balcony Theater. The Balcony Theater is used for children's theatre, smaller productions, and community cultural groups.
The Black Box Studio is also on the second floor. It seats up to 100 and has panels that can divide it up into three rooms. The Black Box performance space is designed for innovative new work, cutting-edge experimental theater, and to provide space for rehearsals, educational programs, and visual arts exhibitions.
Today, the Miracle Theater is still the home of the Actor’s Playhouse theater company. It is a cultural and performing arts center for the community that truly reflects the greatness of the theater’s past.

Last one of this series, from a really (very) brief venture into this hallway. Lasted only seconds, enough to snap a few shots, and provided hours (months?) worth of food for thought... I walk past every day, in a hurry, but will come back with spare time and more lenses for a proper photo session, after getting permission from the branch manager... One day...

Looking up into the colourful richness of the 7-star Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.
I took this photo in 2015, using an Olympus OM-D E-M10 camera and M.Zuiko 9-18mm wide-angle lens @9mm.
A beautiful open bloom.
A duo-toned Cherry Parfait rose also called 'Fire and Ice', in our garden.
It was, like all flowers: imperfect… I have yet, after thousands of flowers find a 'perfect' one.... just like people? LOLOLOL
Still, it is slowly unfolding and yielding us its beauty and fragrance in the evening...

I’m constantly planting seeds in Second Life. Some of them sprout and grow. Others never see the light of day. I water all the seeds of change as part of my ongoing bimbo transformation. Today I’m talking about personal growth and seeds that went nowhere.

I was lucky when I’ve been in Barcelona. Great weather all the time and no any rain... almost... Exactly on my Gaudi-day the sky was covered by clouds and the storm began to approach...
I was right near Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera (Catalan for 'The Quarry'), one of the best creation of the genius. Almost black clouds hanged over the city and I understood that only stone guardian (figurative chimneys) on the roof of the building can be protectors of Barcelona, like real Storm Watch...
The impression was so strong that I made my shot immediately...
Casa Milà, or La Pedrera, is a building designed by Antoni Gaudí and built during the years 1906–1910, being considered officially completed in 1912. It was built for the married couple, Rosario Segimon and Pere Milà. Rosario Segimon was the wealthy widow of José Guardiola, an Indiano, a term applied locally to the Catalans returning from the American colonies with tremendous wealth. Her second husband, Pere Mila, was a developer who was criticized for his flamboyant lifestyle and ridiculed by the contemporary residents of Barcelona, when they joked about his love of money and opulence, wondering if he was not rather more interested in "the widow’s guardiola" (piggy bank), than in "Guardiola’s widow".
Gaudí did not conceive the Casa Milà as a simple residential building, but as a complete work that ventured from architecture into the realm of sculpture. The facade, influenced by the early international Art Nouveau movement, is clad in limestone blocks that were rough-hewn to achieve a matte finish, forming characteristic curved volumes and sinuous arabesques that recall a sea cliff with cave dwellings marked by evocatively shaped wrought iron balconies. The lower part of the facade is built with stone from the Garraf Massif and the upper part with stone from Vilafranca del Penedès, both south of Barcelona. Originally, Gaudí aimed to convert La Pedrera into a religious allegory of the Holy Rosary, culminating atop the façade with a four-metre-high bronze medallion. However, the Setmana Tràgica (Tragic Week, a social revolt sparked in 1909 by the mobilisation of the Catalan reservists to fight in Morocco, during which churches were attacked and burnt) persuaded Milà that a residential dwelling with a huge sculpture atop the building, described as "the Virgin", but said by Gijs van Hensbergen in his biography of Gaudi, to represent the primeval earth goddess Gaia, would undoubtedly become the next target for anti-clerical mobs. He therefore quietly cancelled this part of the scheme. This image was replaced by the chimneys and accesses to the roof terrace that look like sentinels with helmets, which the poet Pere Gimferrer called a “warriors’ garden”...
Casa Milà was listed World Heritage by UNESCO in 1984.

Palais Garnier built in 1870, is one hidden jewel, not visited by many Paris visitors, but is a must, if you love architecture.
