Lt. Col. Benjamin Kolle, chief of optometry for the 121st Medical Group, performs an eye exam on a local school-age child during GuardCare 2024 at the Greene County Career Center in Xenia, Ohio, Aug. 10, 2024. Over two days, a contingent of Ohio National Guard members, U.S. Public Health Service officers and other U.S. military medical professionals partnered with local and state health agencies to provide free, comprehensive medical care to the citizens of Greene County. Guardsmen participated in the event through the Department of Defense Innovative Readiness Training, or IRT, program. The Idaho and Nevada National Guards conducted two weeklong medical visits to Tribal members from the Nez Perce and the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes, May 13-24, 2024, through a community healthcare partnership program called Operation Nimiipuu Health. Approximately 50 citizen-Soldiers and Airmen provided behavioral health, medical, dental and optometry services to the Nez Perce Tribe's local citizens at Lapwai, Idaho, and the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes at the Duck Valley Reservation in Nevada. The program is part of Idaho National Guard’s Innovative Readiness Training, a U.S. Department of Defense-driven, Office of Secretary of Defense Reserve Affairs-sponsored, Army National Guard-led and multi-service training event for service members to work in our communities while performing deployment readiness tasks, creating a win-win for both Soldiers and Airmen and the communities. Ben joined Boots at the age of 17. He also got passed into optical consultant level 2 qualification and become a full-time colleague. After completing his leadership in the healthcare course he joined Boots as an assistant manager. He continued his studies to become an optical consultant. As he had a real passion for dispensing optician consultant.

That's a lens clock. It's designed to measure the base curve of a lens. I'm in the middle of taking a whole bunch of photos of the clinic, so I figured that I'll throw in some activity shots.
