I had a request to take down the original “Photo of the Day” for September 21 of which I will respectfully comply. Luckily my optometrist had lots of toys, which resulted in me having a backup for that day! Sometimes redundancy is a lifesaver!
I really like this one for some reason.

The Naval Medical Leader and Professional Development Command’s Chief Mess in Bethesda visited the Tri-Service Optician School (TOPS) detachment at Yorktown, Virginia on October 27th.
The mission of TOPS is to provide formal optical training to Army Optical Laboratory Specialist MOS (68H) and Navy Hospital Corpsman (NEC L19A) students with quality training through a 24-week, DoD, uniformed services school on the subjects of ophthalmic dispensing, ophthalmic fabrication and clinical optics. Upon completing the required curriculum, graduates are immediately able to function as an independent optician in any military environment.
Hospital Corpsman Chief Jon Martinez, the TOPS Senior Enlisted Leader, provided a detailed introduction brief to the group, a comprehensive tour of the installation, explained every step of the student’s curriculum sequence and arranged a classroom visit, where all the NMLPDC Chiefs provided with questions and answers along with encouraging words to the junior students.
