The building was home to the Aeolian Company, makers of player pianos. The third floor hall was the site of numerous concerts, including Paul Whiteman's "Experiment in Modern Music" in 1924 which introduced Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue".

Area residents wait for optometry exams at a health-care clinic being operated by the Air National Guard and U.S. Navy Reserve at Estill County High School in Irvin, Ky., June 21, 2018. The clinic is one of four that comprised Operation Bobcat, a 10-day mission to provide military medical troops with crucial training in field operations and logistics while offering no-cost health care to the residents of Eastern Kentucky. The clinics, which operated from June 15-24, offered non-emergent medical care; sports physicals; dental cleanings, fillings and extractions; eye exams and no-cost prescription eye glasses. Tennessee, USA - 15 members of the Memphis Southern College of Optometry Lions Club joined 12 members of the Germantown Lions Club to plant 450 Redbud trees in a local park. It only took them 1 ½ hours to plant all the trees.

I had a request to take down the original “Photo of the Day” for September 21 of which I will respectfully comply. Luckily my optometrist had lots of toys, which resulted in me having a backup for that day! Sometimes redundancy is a lifesaver!
