Tennessee, USA - 15 members of the Memphis Southern College of Optometry Lions Club joined 12 members of the Germantown Lions Club to plant 450 Redbud trees in a local park. It only took them 1 ½ hours to plant all the trees.

On Friday 8 people from the Rancho Mirage Braille Institute went to the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California. We attended the Shared Visions Art Exhibit. All art was done by the visually impared. Afterward we went to the Orange County Braille Institute for a meeting.

Caption: The power of scleral lenses to manage vision impairment due to Keratoconus!

 

Image taken during scleral lens fitting training to Sudanese optometry students using IACLE resources. Keratoconus, a major cause of vision imapirment in adults in North Africa, is prevalent in Sudan and patients do not have access to scleral lenses due to lack of fitting skills by the practitioners.
