Day 1 - Optional Training

Twenty teams from across Texas took part in 2015 Texas Envirothon competition. The event was held April 11–13 at Schreiner University in Kerrville.
We were told that the opening kickoff event was a wedding between "M" and "P", and that the attire was black tie optional. I, Dan, and Gen dressed up. Dan's tie is an actual real bowtie.
Main (optional) - Oven baked Atlantic Royal sea bream served with "ratatouille" and tomato coulis
As i am typing this... I am trying to recall the taste of this dish... I am not too big a fan of fish, at least not if they are battered, deep fried in forms of sticks.. but this is delicious! together with the tomato coulis ( i don't think there is ratatouille part in it... at least from what i see of the cartoon.. there isn't any thing of that sort in this dish), it was a wonderful combination...
I won't advise anyone to take the skin by itself.. I got a shock when I took my dining partner's... it was so salty!! No thanks to my other dining partner, who choose to tell me that the chef might have sprinkled salt on it before baking or steaming.. (we also can't decide if it was baked or steamed).
All in all, we were in total agreement that the mains (both the beef cheek and Sea bream) were done perfectly. congrats to the chef (I think it's Patrick Heuberger from au Petit Salut) !

An optional excursion was offered in the afternoon: Olive Farm and Medieval Village - A visit to a private olive oil mill and the beautiful village of Les Baux de Provence.
And I fell for love . Flower was every where, balloon came in big bunch. And Guys of all kind come out to search for the most simple way to say, ILY.
Womenizing the world, it's great. But guy, is some how still a sweet thing.

An optional anchor davit is bolted to the foredeck here. The rode storage is offset to the starboard side. Notice the molded notch for the rode to run through. And the entire working area is elevated so it’s not only easier to work here, the whole body has better leverage when hauling the anchor up. Note that the cleat for the anchor rode is right where it should be. The bow is pre-wired for an optional windlass.

Shot with a Sony a7ii through a 70-year-old Leica thread mount Canon Serenar Ultra-Wide Angle 28mm f/3.5 lens, "the fastest wide angle lens in the world at the time," indeed five times faster than the Zeiss Tessar 28mm f/8, in South Austin.
