Wanted to try out the camera on the iPad 2. Trinity was my less than willing subject. :)
She finally cooperated, hoping it would mean a treat.

THIS COULD FAIL
An Optimistic Exhibition of Works In Progress
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12, 6-9PM
421 NE 10th Ave
This Could Fail. It can be said of most attempts at greatness in this world, but we choose to see this as a rallying cry. An uncommon call to action.
We are the students of the Applied Craft + Design Program and we are experts in the uncommon. Combining skills in fields as varied as science, dance, graphic design, software engineering, wood, metals, fiber and more with design thinking and design doing, we seek to discover unexpected and surprising solutions both inclusive and exclusive. We follow no prescribed road maps, we investigate ideas, we test concepts and then test again. With such a rigorous practice, failure is always a possibility but when it happens we choose to embrace it, learn from it and let it drive us. To us: Failure is Motivation.
So, we invite you to come and contemplate this theory with us at our annual Works In Progress Winter Show. Featuring everything from collaborative explorations to single-minded inquiries, the show is sure to be a stimulating experience. And you don't want to miss this exclusive access to our awe-inspiring warehouse studio space. We hope to see you there.
The MFA in Applied Craft + Design program is a joint program between OCAC and PNCA.

"If you can see your feet, obviously you're not looking up, and you know where that'll get you in life? Walked headlong into a pole."
I will get this tattooed somewhere on my foot when I'm older. Perhaps not like this, but it will be there, even if it's tiny.

Hanging a suet cage where the squirrels can't get to it is a challenge, but not one this lovely Downy can't handle.
I really like this one only because of the color. It was such a nice, sunny day, maybe the last oppurtunity to take photos in good wheather until next spring. This flower seemed so sunny and made me feel quite optimistic all of a sudden :D
Be optimistic. After looking at this picture for quite some time, I realized that this photo gives off a feeling of optimism for me. The look in her eyes and her looking up makes me feel like she is keeping an open mind and keeping her eyes open for new things. I had a quote written down from a long time ago and it says “Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A world of optimism and hope. A 'you can do it' when things are tough.” -Richard M. DeVos. I know few people that have super open minds and will give anyone positive pushes, but Jocelyn (the girl in photo) is one of those people. . I originally took this photo for the biggie small’s challenge, hoping to have an Alice in Wonderland theme by having her look like a giant and the teacup look tiny. I made the colors more vibrant but then took away some of the saturation and I enhanced the contrast. Also, I made the whites, whiter and the blacks, blacker.
Optimistically he/she was attempting to absorb some late March sunshine. This snake was very sluggish, but with a bolt-hole close at hand.
The sight of a walking companion promptly tucking their trouser legs into their socks was more than amusing. I'm just as bad, as no way was I going to approach it with the camera.
If you meet one just be nice to it. adders are actually very reluctant to strike, and as for trouser legs, in the uk, it's not adders one should worry about but swifts, as they have an instinct to climb. But that as they say is another story ...
Someone has planted some trees and plants at Denburn - I'm sure it is due for demolition ... good to see someone caring for public spaces.
Optimistically the Spotted Cow is still for sale.......... The 'Nelson' just a few streets away has been pulled down.
