This is my entry for the What's the Weather Lawnfawnatics challenge. I saw this meme on Facebook and had to create my card using the cute turtle from Get Well Before 'n Afters. I would have used the already upside down turtle, but he is pouting lol. I drew in an open eye and some eyelashes. I accidentally used the Q instead of the O in "to," so rather than start over, I drew a slanted line up at the top left and did the same thing with the O in "optimism" to hopefully make it look intentional lol. 😂

Tyring to be optimistic today that the garage will finally figure out what's wrong with my car and at last fix it.
I belong to a numberplate pool, and after buying sodas at Kroger on North High and Seventh I saw this plate on the way back to my car. It was the only shot I could get before a security guard began approaching, but dang, what evidence of an optimistic couple...

I arrived at village of Blue Sea Lake optimistic that I would find a place to stay even though an internet search the week before had only found a few weekly rentals, for more than I could afford. And I only wanted to stay a few days.
I drove though the village and along the roads that followed the shore hoping to see a sign "Cabins for Rent". I ended up back in the village at a little pub of sorts where I met a few of the locals who were very helpful, especially after I told them about my grandfather's poem and the reason for my visit. They kindly gave me some names and numbers to call and graciously offered more help if the contacts they gave did not work out.
One of the contacts was Raymond, just a mile or so around the bay. Raymond used to rent cabins but sold them last fall and now rents boats of all kinds. He pointed me in the direction of a few places to try which also did not work out.... so now I was thinking I may have to drive to a nearby town or sleep in my car!
I went back to Raymond's and he remembered a B&B on the other side of the lake, but not on the water. The B&B had won many awards for their food he said, but there was a good chance it may be full. My luck had turned, they had a room for one night, but the dining room was booked for dinner that evening. I was excited and relieved that at least for one evening I could settle in and I was anxious to get some photos. I still had my packed lunch, and didn’t feel hungry anyway.
Meanwhile a local cottager dropped by to pay a bill or something. Raymond promptly introduced me to this fellow and handed him my grandfather’s poem, which I had given him shortly after I arrived. By now everyone I met heard my story. The fellow pushed the paper with the poem as far away from his eyes as his arm could go, squinted and then began to read it out loud. He said it was a lovely poem and later offered to rent me a small cabin by the water this summer if I give him some notice when I was coming. Raymond then said in his French way of speaking English that... " Janice arrived like a fly on a soup". I laughed and said I have never heard that expression before. But it was so funny....that's me, a fly on a soup. hahaha The thing about being a fly on a soup is I get to meet many wonderful people who are kind and interesting. Thanks Raymond and Russ and John and the other men and women whose names I did not get, for listening and helping.
Off I went to this famous B&B. "Maison La Crémaillère" and my next adventure….

Silver Rebels: Adventures Beyond the Limits of Age
Description
This imaginative collection celebrates ageing as a new frontier of freedom, humour, courage and limitless possibility. Across a sequence of surreal cinematic worlds, groups of joyful older adults reject conventional expectations and transform retirement into an extraordinary playground filled with movement, friendship and adventure.
The protagonists race through undulating chessboard landscapes on modified walkers, knit scarves while parachuting above floating windmills, compete in vehicles carved from giant wheels of cheese, climb frozen fantasy architecture, ride bicycles beneath the sea and cross enormous landscapes shaped like mouths, teacups, musical instruments and inflatable cities. Other scenes place them paddleboarding through a flooded library, kitesurfing across mirrorlike water, skateboarding over volcanic terrain, ziplining through a dental wonderland, racing motorcycles among meteorites and celebrating athletic victories on floating cosmic islands.
Despite the impossible settings, the emotional core remains recognisable and deeply human. Laughter, companionship, determination and curiosity connect every image. Protective equipment, athletic clothing and expressive faces reinforce the idea that these seniors are not passive observers but fearless participants, confidently entering environments usually associated with youth, risk and physical daring.
Warm golden light, rich colours, wide cinematic compositions and highly detailed environments create a visual language that combines photorealism with playful surrealism. Familiar objects are enlarged, transformed or placed in unexpected contexts, turning everyday memories, hobbies and domestic symbols into spectacular arenas for exploration. The result is an optimistic reflection on longevity and active ageing, suggesting that imagination does not diminish with time and that adventure can continue in endlessly surprising forms.

Optimistic about the warmth, I put on a dress, and some open-toed sandals. Halfway through the day, I had to rush home and put on some pants. Still, we're growing closer.
On March 19th, the handsomely rotund and perpetually optimistic blue tick coon hound from Dog Run #6 passed over to the Rainbow Bridge under the big full moon at Rikki's Refuge. He was about four years old and had been suffering from bone cancer. Mr. Mountain never met a human he didn't love (to beg a treat from) or a cat he didn't want to chase. One of his favorite ways to charm extra treats from people was the "sit down and shake your hand" trick -- a feat he could accomplish with either his left paw or his right paw. The sweet boy was an ambidextrous hound. And he was a skilled escape artist -- working in conjunction with is partner in crime Ms. Summer, he could sneak out of any gate on the farm. His next door neighbor Mr. Navigator often said "his nose just knows how to defeat a gate latch!" He spent most of his adult life in the Doggy Downs neighborhood of Rikki's Refuge, where he and Summer liked to spend their days eating treats, receiving head pats and ear scratches, and melodically baying at, well, almost anything that struck their fancy. Mr. Mountain was abundantly affectionate to everyone he ever met, and his dark yellow eyes always shined with love and gratitude. With a heart the size of a mountain, he was one unique blue tick hound that remained true to his name until the very end.

Peter Max art is some of the bestselling through major online art programs like originalartbroker.com and through private and public auctions. His unique artistic style and his ability to adapt to the art world’s changing landscape have secured his place in art history while pushing his art to increasingly greater popularity among art collectors.
While most contemporary artists fall into favor for a short while, Peter Max has managed to do the unthinkable by creating a robust career spanning more than 50 years. Peter Max painting first gained widespread popularity during the 1960s poster phenomenon. His psychedelic images often featured galactic and futurist themes. He inspired a number of other artists, and is widely incorrectly credited with creating the Beatles famous Yellow Submarine album cover since it was painted in the signature Peter Max style. Although the Peter Max art of the 1960 is very different from Peter Max art today, his early work showcases the same signature style that his work is known for today. Throughout his lengthy career, Max has used vibrant colors, bold black lines, and vibrant optimistic symbols to convey his unique point of view. He continued on the same path throughout the 1960s and 70s until he decided to change his perspective during the 1980s. Peter Max was able to recognize that the world was changing, and his earlier poster art was becoming less relevant in the new art landscape. He realized that to keep current his art was going to need to adapt. Peter Max started painting with new techniques more inspired by impressionism, and his now well-known use of visible brushstrokes began. Peter Max’s new art really took hold of the public consciousness with his now iconic Liberty Head series. Peter Max paintings capitalized on themes of nationalism and he became known for his patriotic art throughout much of the 1980s and 90s including his Flag Series 44 Obamas, and 100 Clintons. During the 2000s and beyond, Peter Max focused on global themes of peace, love, harmony, and hope. He has become a significant humanitarian, passionate about many causes including the environment and animal rights. His most recent work also incorporates elements of collage and focuses on mixed media work.
Peter Max’s long career and large body of work ensures that there is something for every collector. One of the main reasons for the artist’s enormous popularity is that his ever evolving work has produced a large range of themes meaning that somewhere in his collection is a piece that will appeal to almost every buyer. Another major reason for Peter Max’s massive popularity is his uplifting subject matter. Throughout his career, Max’s images all share a great sense of positivity and optimism. Art collectors like to hang artwork in their home or private collections which convey a positive feeling and Max’s paintings epitomize that sought after upbeat feeling. In addition to his huge popularity with art collectors, Peter Max is also known for his art’s role within pop culture. His 1974 stamp and his painted Boeing 777 plane are both quintessential examples of this. Peter Max has used his art as an outreach program, and by creating a name for himself within popular culture it increased his art’s status among collectors.
There are a number of reasons for Peter Max’s huge success among art collectors. While his vibrant colors and optimistic themes have both played significant roles in his massive popularity, Peter Max’s popularity boils down to the uniqueness of his signature style and his ability to evolve over his long and impressive career. Peter Max is one of the most influential artist in the modern art world, and his sales among art collectors prove that his influence is both artistically relevant and culturally popular.
..A retired, old man... Although he has no one waiting for him at home, he was the only one who gave me the greatest smiles each morning and reminded me how great life is..

The first glimpse of blue skies in nearly a week, with more rain on the way. Enjoying it while I can.
