NEWPORT, RI – The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) holds at graduation ceremony for students from the International Maritime Staff Operators Course (IMSOC) held at the Naval War College Museum onboard Naval Station Newport, November 3, 2023. NWC’s Provost Stephen Mariano, Ph.D. spoke during the ceremony with 21 international students graduating. IMSOC was jointly designed by the NWC’s International Programs department and the College of Maritime Operational Warfare to teach international students the fundamental concepts and processes necessary to support a multinational maritime component commander at the operational level of warfare. Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage.
