• Route briefly extended to Merry Hill Shopping Centre
• Extension withdrawn within a year; reverted to Halesowen–Bromsgrove
• 2000s–2010s:
• Continued under various operators
• Diamond Bus assumed control, with operation alternating between Tividale and Kidderminster depots
• 2020:
• Service suspended and withdrawn during Diamond’s internal difficulties (“when things went pear-shaped”)
• Renumbered and rerouted as Service 44, diverting via Northfield
• Late 2020:
• Following public consultation and strong local feedback, the original 202 route and number were restored
• The route received financial support from WCC, ensuring its continuation
